If u want a top notch vet Dr Ramsey is your choice. Our 'Rosie' got the best check up in years, very thorough and personable. Dr. Cromer

I’ve been a client of South Tyler Animal Clinic since the 1990’s when Dr Wheeler owned the business. When I heard the news, I was devastated…until I met Dr Ramsey. He has taken great care of my standard poodles over the years, celebrating the ups and downs of being a dog owner. I pray his son Hunter comes back to Tyler when he finishes his training.

As a practice, South Tyler Animal Clinic is good at getting you in quickly and answering questions. Their vets and technicians are all professional. However, the corporate ownership structure of this practice makes for a poor customer experience. Owned by Vetcor, this clinic heavily promotes their own pharmacy to the point where I was denied a prescription with Chewy. This Rx was later approved once the clinic policy was clarified, but the desire for full vertical integration is clear with this practice. Their lab and billing practices frequently result with one estimate that later becomes a different, more expensive one. Markup on prescriptions and lab work is significant.

Dr. Ramsey was recommended to me for noninvasive Endoscopic surgery. He is one of the few Veterinarians with this technology (outside of expensive pet hospitals). My Kiwi (cattle dog) swallowed the rubber end of a spatula. I wanted to do everything possible to Not have to open her up. Time was also critical due to possible damage and movement into the intestine. Not only did Dr Ramsey come in on his day off, but he was an expert in "object" removal. The procedure was quick. He went through the esophagus. I saw the video. He was incredibly thorough by checking for debris, and he went through a good part of the digestive track for damage. I hate to admit he pulled out some "toy stuffing" that Kiwi had injested. Bad mom. Regardless, my 3 year old pup is back to herself. The follow-up from the staff was so appreciated. They checked with me post surgery a number of times. I live in Dallas. Everything is available here, but the Tyler trip was well worth this life saving treatment. They will be taking care of my pups from now on. Tori, Kiwi and Asher

Can't say enough great things about South Tyler Animal Clinic! The wonderful staff always goes the extra mile to ensure you and you are well informed and your pet well cared for. The clinic is always spotless and fresh. The staff and the doctors are absolutely phenomenal! As soon as you enter the office you are greeted with a smile as you check your pet in and in most cases, barely have time to sit down before a tech escorts you to your procedure room. You and your pet are welcomed and made as comfortable as possible while being examined and treated. The doctors and vet techs always explain any needed procedures and answer any questions you might have. They also follow up with you to ensure your pet is doing well feeling better with prescribed treatment. I have used this clinic for many years and wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. I definitely recommend South Tyler Animal Clinic to anyone looking for the best place in town to care for your animals. It just doesn't get any better than this!
