I have been to a few Petco grooming salons around San Jose for my puppy’s baths, but this location truly stood out. As someone who refers to my dog as my child, it can be nerve-wracking leaving her with strangers. My dog is a rescue and experiences a lot of anxiety when placed in a kennel due to past trauma, so I always worry about how she will be treated. The grooming team here genuinely listened to my concerns and showed so much compassion. They kindly agreed to call me about 15 minutes before she was finished so I could minimize the amount of time she spent in a kennel. That level of care and understanding meant so much to me. When they called, they not only let me know she was almost done, but they also gave me a thoughtful update on how she did during her bath and grooming appointment, including what went well and any challenges she experienced. I really appreciated the communication and transparency. It is clear that this team truly cares about the pets they work with and treats them with kindness and patience. I will definitely be returning to this specific Petco for my puppy’s monthly grooming appointments. Thank you for taking such great care of my girl! 🫶🏽🐾💖

I usually give this Petco location 5 stars but not this time. My appointment was at 12:30 PM. I dropped my dog off and 45 minutes later I get a text letting me know that they have scheduled my next grooming appointment. So we waited for them to text us that he was ready and they never did! So I decided after 2 hrs. To go and see if they were finished with him and they were, so I asked them why I wasn’t notified that he was ready for pickup? And the answer I got was I don’t know 😡 this is not good customer service

Grace, the groomer is always on time and has perfect grooming skills I trust her abilities. Whereas Diane, the other groomer does not show care or good grooming skills. Last December she took over 4hrs to groom my pet. I believe she was training a new employee and used my dog as her “subject “. I will not return if Diane was to be my groomer!! Very disappointing. Plus, she didn’t trim my dogs nails or did as good a job as Grace. As for shopping for my pet needs, Alex the manager gives me good pet advices to my needs. He listens to my issues and I trust him as well for my pet needs! These 2 employees are what I come to this Petco store for.

I have been taking my dog to Petco for grooming for some time, but when I couldn’t get an appointment at my usual location, I tried the Tully Road, San Jose location. Unfortunately, my experience there was very disappointing. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00 AM, but at 8:00 AM, I received a call from the groomer, Adriana, who seemed inexperienced. It felt like they just didn’t want to groom my dog because they were too busy, which is not right. This kind of last-minute cancellation or lack of professionalism is frustrating and disappointing. Overall, I felt that the grooming experience was disorganized, and I didn’t have confidence in Adriana’s ability to handle my dog properly. I expected better communication and professionalism from Petco

I had to take my dog here in early November because the usual location I go to did not have any appointments. This place had my dog 20 minutes short of 6 hours!!!! I went after 4 hours and asked what was going on. They said they gave my dog a bath but hadn’t started the haircut yet. My dog was nowhere to be seen so I’m assuming he was put up. They had no excuse for why it was taking so long when I picked him up. When we went to pick him up he was whining and Adriana said he seemed wiggly during his appointment. Yeah I’m sure he did because for some reason it took you 6 hours to groom him. With a horrible haircut where his armpits weren’t even shaved and had him looking a mess. We paid extra for the holiday bandana and she just handed it to us. Honestly the appointment seemed neglectful. Why did it take so long? Why did he look a mess? Why was he whining? Why was he still whining when we got home? I will never go to this petco location again.
