This place used to be great but: -Significantly higher vet bills in comparison to other vets in the area -no urgent appointment availability -not even open when they say they are -they don’t return calls -can’t even get their vets to show up -they push services My pets had yearly exams and vaccines at vetco and VCA refused to acknowledge that a wellness exam was completed. One of my dogs has allergies and frequent ear infections and in the past I’ve been able to just call and request the wipes and solution they usually give her to keep her ears clean and free of yeast, which she is prone to. They refused to dispense the prescription without a wellness exam (even though as stated before it was already completed for the year) and I had to pay a crazy fee to go to the emergency vet instead.

Everyone was super friendly and thorough. Shout out to Dr. Greg for being so kind and listening to my concerns! Had a really great experience with all the staff. My Clementine is really thankful for her care too!

They are trying to keep everyone safe by not allowing people in. When you get there you call in and they come and get your dog. They talk to you then or exchange further info by phone. Worked out well for us. They brought her out when she was done and talked to me then. Explained what was done and what should be done in the furure. Everyone was friendly and polite. My little dog will be going back in March. Also seemed to be cheaper than last vet.😁

Sadly I am changing vets. I live at my mothers in sussex getting ready to have my lower left leg amputated while fighting a nasty infection at the same time. I put in a prescription for my dog at 10am and at 3pm tried to call, only to have the mailbox full and couldn't get a hold of anyone. So I had to drive 40mins to just to findout if it was ready... It was not. I stopped at my house and waited until 6pm with no response, even tried calling but again no one answered with a full mailbox. So at 6pm and in a lot of pain and discomfort I drove up there yet again. Only for them to be closed. No message, no we are sorry, but...my time which is very important right now didn't matter. Not even a call, seeing every call I actually made went to a full mailbox, Now, I did get angry because I thought it was incredibly rude to treat someone like that who's been with them for years. I should also mention as well that I only have a fixed income from disability per month, and when I went back when they closed, I had my mothers card which she needed back that night. So I drove again back to Sussex and then back to fox river pkwy. Only to have my leg get really bad, along with the infection gett

Our pets have received nothing but the best care from our Veterinarian & staff at VCA. They've always managed to work with us within our budget by finding a variety of ways for us to meet our pets needs when we're struggling financially. Unfortunately, we had to put down my 20 year old feline Luna who was dying painfully from heart failure. He made it 8 months longer than the original prognosis so he was a fighter! The care, empathy & tenderness with which both we & most importantly our cat was treated when the time came we will be forever grateful for. A veterinarian & their staff cannot 'play-act' such a blatant display of love & sadness. Their sincerity helped us cope & feel less alone, & their compassionate demeanor helped calm our cat in the last few minutes of his life. If you want a veterinary clinic that is professional, has a full panel of experts, has all the equipment needed at the clinic to deal with ANY emergency, is willing to work with you within your budget if money is tight & consists of compassionate & dedicated individuals who love all animals (and it shows), then VCA is the best choice you'll ever make for yourself and, above all else, for your pet(s)!
