About Taurus Academy Lamar

Taurus Academy Lamar is a pet groomer in Austin, Texas. It is listed at 715 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704, which places it among the local businesses of Austin that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under dog trainer, kennel, pet boarding service, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–8 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Austin is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This facility lacks transparency, basic hygiene standards, and communication. Do not bring your dog here unless they are fine with sitting in a kennel all day long, and you’re cool with them coming home covered in urine. I have never had such an atrocious daycare experience. I brought my dog here for socialization on a trainer's recommendation, with explicit instructions that he has isolation distress and should not be kenneled for long periods. I even emphasized that I work from home and was available to pick him up at any time if he wasn't settling or seemed distressed. Despite this, it was clear he was kenneled almost the entire day. When I called to check in, I could hear him panicking in a kennel in the background. While his 'report card' had photos, they were all taken within the same two-minute window, which felt like a staged update rather than actual playtime. When I asked at least three different staff members about his kennel time, I received conflicting answers, and no one could give me an actual timeline of his day or what future days would look like at daycare. My dog came home covered in his own waste, with urine on his face, despite having a professional bath the da

Three big dogs. Dramatic names. Zero stress. Taurus Academy Lamar is amazing with Dracula, Duchess, and Copernicus. Taurus Lamar handles them like absolute pros. They’re so patient, attentive, and genuinely loving with each one of our (very large) personalities. The updates and photos are always amazing, honestly frame worthy, and we never question whether our crew is safe, happy, and probably a little spoiled. You can truly feel how much they care. Taurus Lamar is simply the best.

Our dog’s Lina and Waffles love Taurus. They go often for daycare and also boarding when we are away. Friendly, kind and caring are the three words I’d use to describe the staff.
