Ponderosa Pet Suites

This was our second time boarding our dogs at Ponderosa Pet Suites, and once again they exceeded our expectations. The first time, we brought a very fussy and reactive husky along with a hyperactive collie mix. This time, we brought our new crew — an extremely energetic young Border Collie and a bird-hunting Black Lab who had never boarded before and had barely spent any time away from us. We needed to fly to Southeast Alaska on fairly short notice, and Ponderosa was able to get us in right away. They were incredibly patient and understanding as we worked through getting shots and documentation while traveling. When our schedule changed at drop-off, they were flexible and accommodating. Then, while we were away, our plans unfortunately changed again, and they were just as kind and helpful in allowing us to adjust. Most importantly, when we picked up our dogs, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Seeing their excitement to see us while knowing they had been comfortable and loved while we were gone meant everything. Warning for travelers with flights. Extremely disappointed. We dropped our young dogs off today just before 10am and within 20 minutes we were called and told to come pickup our dogs. When we dropped them off they placed them in the yard. we brought their stuff in and they showed us their space. That was it and then we left. It was quite rushed. When they called they said your dogs are scared and won’t let us approach them so you need to come pick them up. I asked if we could sit with them till they become comfortable and were told no but we could talk about it when we get there. They already had all of our stuff packed up and there was no real discussion. They said they had a schedule they needed to keep and this wasn’t the place for our dogs. There was no working with us or attempt to try to make the dogs comfortable. In the end we had no choice but to cancel the vacation because boarding facilities are all full because of the Holiday. What a crappy thing to do to people to not even attempt to work with you especially since they offer 2 different drop off times of morning and evening.

They did great with my pets and were incredibly accommodating with my instructions. 10 out of 10. And will be returning.

Ponderosa Pet Suites took such great care of my Cattle Dog and even updated us with photos while we were away from him. Would absolutely use them again and recommend to my family.
