Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Durham is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. They have a great selection of items. Craig helped me out today with care-tips for betta fish and aquatic plants. It was clear that he’s super knowledgeable and passionate about pet-care. Shout out to him! I’ll be back for sure.

I usually do my best to work with people and give grace because I know things happen, but today’s grooming experience with my baby was completely unacceptable. I dropped her off at 12:45 p.m. and didn’t pick her up until 5:00 p.m., only for her to come home without a bath and looking like this. I understand that she had some matting, and I would never expect a groomer to do something that isn’t safe. However, I believe groomers know before they start whether they have the proper tools or experience to handle a situation. I was told they called me, but I have no missed calls on my phone. They were texting me throughout the day, so if they truly couldn’t reach me by phone, why wasn’t I simply sent a text letting me know there was an issue? Respectfully, I would have much rather been turned away than have my dog spend over four hours there and come home distressed. She has been whining since we got home, and as her owner, that’s heartbreaking to witness. What makes this even more disappointing is that this was her third visit, and we’ve never had an issue before. I’m sharing my experience because I believe pet owners deserve clear communication and compassionate care for their ani

This is Kashlyns favorite location ❤️ The staff are super friendly and informative. They always love on her when she comes in the store. They’ve been so helpful in helping me make good choices for her from letting me know food options, dental care options to good snacks! Also encouraging me to get the vital care plan which has been so so helpful.

I am writing this review to warn any customer from purchasing dog food from Petco in the Durham region, specifically their line of food, Wholehearted at 4011 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd. I purchased a bag of dog food from this location that was infested with webs, moths and larvae. This is unacceptable for any product, especially pet food. When I returned it, I was only offered a refund or an exchange for the same brand -- despite clear concerns about a possible infestation issue. It was laughed about that, "this happens when we don't have climate control in our warehouse." No effort was made to offer compensation or a price adjustment if I chose to purchase a different line of dog food instead from this Petco location. I asked for a discount such as 10% off of our purchase of a different brand of food due to the major health concern surrounding Wholehearted, yet the manager was unaccommodating. This response was extremely dismissive given the seriousness of the issue and I will never be returning as a Petco customer.

The staff were nice. I purchased 12 black neon tetras for my 65 gallon community tank. Within 2 days they all had ick and a week later most of them have died even after treatment leaving me with only four. I would not recommend buying fish from them as it's clear they are not managing their tanks effectively.
