About Pet Pantry of Lancaster County

Our Mission

The Pet Pantry of Lancaster County (a 501 (c) 3 Non Profit) meets the needs of families and animals in our community through operation of a Pet Food Bank Program, Lower Cost Spay/Neuter/Vaccination Programs, and by supporting animal rescue through our adoption program.

Located at 26 Millersville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17603, Pet Pantry of Lancaster County operates as an animal shelter serving Lancaster in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under veterinary care, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

This group covers shelters, breeders and the other places pet owners use: animal shelters and rescues place dogs and cats for adoption and often run low-cost vaccine and spay clinics; breeders raise puppies and kittens of particular breeds; pet cremation services and cemeteries help when a pet dies; pet photographers take portraits, often right after a fresh groom; and pet-friendly hotels and places welcome dogs. It also holds businesses that turned up next to groomers on the map but do not fit a pet category.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 12–7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (717) 983-8878. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, petpantrylc.org.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 729 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded animal shelters & rescues in Lancaster.

Lancaster is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lancaster follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We recently adopted Smokey Joe. But really he picked us. It took him a day to get use to us and noises he wasn't use to hearing but now I cant imaging not having him.He is so sweet and cuddly and very entertaining. Pet Pantry is amazing, so clean and didn't smell. The cats are clean and healthy. Very easy smooth process to adopt. Smokey came neutered, all vaccines and microchipped.

This is a fantastic veterinarian. They are very courteous, professional and efficient. I dropped off the dog in the morning for spay and vaccinations, and she was ready exactly when promised. Plus the veterinarian team thoroughly explained all post-op care. The dog is doing well, too. I highly recommend Pet Pantry!

We came here to donate our dog’s supplies after she passed - and decided to check out the kitties “just for fun.” We ended up pursuing adoption for Moana and she’s the best little addition to our family. Steve was great through the adoption process and helpful with communicating along the way. $150 is truly a great price, for a kitten who is up to date on vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm, and spayed. We would definitely recommend Pet Pantry for donation AND adoption!♥️

Fantastic place! Wonderful people who were more than willing to help out with a stray in need. Very reasonable pricing and the kitty is doing very well and we are transitioning him to an inside cat. Highly recommend the Pet Pantry for their professionalism and dedication to animals in need.

We had a wonderful experience working with Steve. We were searching for our first cat for our son, Kristopher. From the very beginning, Steve was incredibly helpful, patient, and genuinely caring. He took the time to listen to what we were looking for, answered all of our questions, and guided us through the entire process without any pressure. It was clear that he truly cares about both the animals and the families adopting them. His knowledge and kindness made us feel confident and comfortable every step of the way. Thanks to Steve’s help, we found the perfect fit for our family. Kristopher absolutely loves his new cat, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We’re very grateful for the time and effort Steve put into helping us, and we highly recommend him to anyone looking to adopt. He made what could have been a stressful decision feel easy and exciting. Thank you again for everything!
