In Long Beach, price depends on breed, size, coat condition and temperament: small short-coated dogs cost least, while doodles, poodles and double-coated breeds take longer and cost more, and matting adds a dematting fee. Ask whether the groomer is certified, how dogs are dried (cage dryers versus hand drying), whether rabies vaccination proof is required in California, and how long your pet will stay. Most dogs need a groom every four to eight weeks. Saturdays and the weeks before holidays book up first, so schedule ahead and check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.

Long Beach is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Long Beach follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Pretty upset with this store. We've been looking around for fancy rats as pets; we called everywhere and no one has them. So we called this store on Thursday and the guy answered and said, "We have rats. I don't know if they're fancy." Should have been clue number one that they were probably feeder rats and not very well cared for. We got there and I agree with some of the other reviews that the guy gives off some weird vibes but he was accommodating, we handled the rats and selected one. Don't think he approved of us buying his rats as pets and he wouldn't sell us the three story cage that he had, which I thought was a perfect size. Therefore we were forced to go to petco to get a $300 cage that's way too big for our needs. When we got home we noticed the rat was thin on fur in the back, and seemed to be too docile. We went back on Monday to get the rat a friend and we're helped by a different man, equally as creepy; this store could use a customer service course or something. We got another rat, less docile, but turned out to be female even though we asked for male. Doesn't matter, three days later both rats are dead. The latter turned out had mites, both had respiratory issues

Love this little pet store which is owned by Long Beach residents, and they have rescue cats, a bunny, and sometimes guinea pigs to adopt! There's also a great groomer in the back! Bob and Ted the Owners are awesome, so skip the big stores and shop small!!

This little tiny pet store is squeezed right between a dollar store and a rite aid, on spring Street. I would have never walked by if it wasn't for picking up medication. It was a cold day, and I don't know what happened to me but I looked to my left and I saw this little gray fuzzy ball, in the corner of the pet shop, and it was this little gray dude, with his little sister, and for several minutes I couldn't do anything except stare and become deeply moved, I honestly don't know what happened. I saw this innocent little angels that had been rescued from the streets of downtown Long beach, some of their brothers and sisters hadn't made it, they were the last two. They were cuddled with each other kind of like the yin and yang sign.. and as I looked at these little fuzzy balls of angel fluff something told me that I must do everything in my power to bring them home. Now they have a sister, and three kinds of food, reverse osmosis filtered water, the best litter, and outdoor balcony with multiple cat trees.... And they are enjoying their lives after going through so much. I wanted to say thank you to the paw shoppe pet center for giving these little babies a chance, giving them

Honestly the best of the independent pet stores. Great selection, fair prices, and the best customer service around. The new groomers are amazing. Sam does a great job on my less than cooperative dog! And I love the touch of the seasonal photos.
