I cannot say enough good things about Obedient K9. This is my first dog as an adult and I thought with time things would sort of just magically come together. Our family was growing tired of "puppy behavior" and it was starting to wear on our family relationships. It became clear I needed to find a better training solution than thinking we would outgrow puppyhood and when a trusted friend recommended Obedient K9, I went straight to them and knew during the consultation that they were the perfect fit. They were very up front about what would be required for success and then, THEN!!, they held my hand the whole way by keeping me accountable while also being understanding that building a relationship with your dog takes time and consistency. It was important for me to put the money in (I had skin the the game...no more $100 PetSmart classes. You get what you pay for....), I paid for training and then got to work. Katie was our (amazing!!) trainer and she was the perfect fit for my pup...and for me. Obedient K9 gave me the foundation I needed to help my dog become more confident, well-behaved, and fulfilled! I couldn’t be happier with everything my dog and I learned from Katie at Obedient K9. I have a 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever named Ruthie. She is incredibly sweet, but she was fearful of much of the world outside our home. She pulled constantly on the leash, had no “off switch” when playing with the two older dogs in our house, and wasn’t food-motivated at all. She was pretty much totally out of control. I wanted to be able to take her on a walk that wasn’t miserable for both of us, so after many unsuccessful attempts to train her on my own, I started looking for a professional trainer. From the beginning, I felt confident that Obedient K9 was the right choice. Everyone I interacted with was personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to the safety and well-being of the dogs in their care. I have only great things to say about Katie! She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to answer my questions. We had an amazing experience with Obedient K9 Academy. We appreciated the initial evaluation consultation which gave us the time to make sure their philosophy in training aligned with our own values, before signing up. The trainers were very respectful and gave good feedback and tips. Brian was our trainer for the main program and did great with our friendly but overly excited lab puppy. We noticed after each session such a growth in our puppy, Murphy’s, confidence to listen and engage in training. The overall experience really gave us the tools and lessons to continue on this training journey. We left the program feeling confident. Thanks for being a part of Murphy’s life!

We are so grateful to K9 Academy for helping our dogs, Charlie and Frank. Charlie is a German Shepherd/Great Dane mix, and AJ was incredibly experienced with his personality and behavioral challenges. Brendan was amazing with Frank, our pit bull mix, and really understood how to work with him. We originally came to K9 Academy after several dangerous fights between the dogs. At the beginning, we couldn’t even have them in the same room without one going after the other. Through a combination of consistent work at home and guidance from their incredible trainers, things have changed dramatically. Now we can all sit together and watch a movie, take the boys out to a pub, and even walk them together. They may never be best friends, but the fact that they can peacefully coexist is something we honestly weren’t sure would ever happen. What really stood out to us was how much the team truly got to know our boys and took the time to understand our home life and family dynamic. They helped us recognize how both my husband’s and my own behavior were contributing to the issues, and honestly, we were probably trained more than the dogs. My 5 year old Pug is reactive and is impossible to take on walks…… is what I would’ve said a month ago. Now after working with Obedient K9, I can confidently say that he is happier, more confident and more relaxed when going on walks. I really appreciate how the program has structure but also is designed to help your dog with their own areas that need improvement. Every week Toast gets better and better and I feel confident that as time goes on, we can utilize the tools and tricks we learned to keep his progress going. We worked with Jamie and I cannot recommend her enough. I know Toast felt safe and comfortable around her. She was amazing at being patient with us learning and was extremely helpful with coming up for solutions to other challenges.
