I cannot recommend hakuna matata enough! We adopted a puppy (large guarding breed) back in December who had issues with resource guarding, overly dominant behavior, and was becoming a risk to our other resident dog. From the first call with the owner, Mike, I knew she would be in good hands. He went over the process, was incredibly transparent and knowledgeable. Our interactions were never rushed and he took the time and care to make sure everything was answered and acknowledged. We brought her in for an 8 week board and train program where we got updates nearly every day from the team. We were never in the dark about what was going on with her which was great since we sent her at only 9 months old. When we got her back, I was most pleased that her entire personality was unchanged but she listened, was more balanced and we were given the tools and resources to manage her effectively. Mike and team laid the incredibly important foundational groundwork for her to thrive and we know she will be the best dog because of it; she already is! We also will be continuing her training with them through their boarding program when we go on vacations. We cannot thank them for the time and d

The Hakuna Matata Team are amazing! I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you them for the care, effort, and support you’ve given my Jackson. The training and attention he has received from the team has truly made a difference. He has grown into such a well-behaved, wonderful dog, and we couldn’t be more grateful. It’s especially meaningful to us now, as he’s stepping into his new role as a big brother and he’s handling it amazingly. We trust the team and the environment you’ve created, and we’d be excited for our new puppies to learn and grow there just like Jackson did. Thank you again for everything you’ve done for Jackson. We truly appreciate your dedication and the positive impact you’ve had on him.

We just got our dog back from a three-week training program at Hakuna Matata and we couldn’t be happier with the results! After considering several options, we were impressed by Hakuna Matata’s approach. What set them apart was their commitment to ongoing support through daycare, boarding, and general inquiries. Their ability to quickly identify and address our dog’s growing issues, such as her lack of response to common commands, unfriendly behavior towards other dogs, and being grouchy towards our children, was truly remarkable. In addition to addressing her behavioral concerns, Hakuna Matata also trained her in essential skills and off-leash techniques. We can’t wait to take her with us to local events without any worries. Our dog is the same sweet and loving dog she was before, but with core skills and more attentiveness than before. The staff at Hakuna Matata was incredibly supportive and responsive throughout her stay. They answered all our questions promptly and kept us well-informed about her progress. Their communication was exceptional, and we felt confident that our dog was in good hands. Michael and Joselyn, the owners of Hakuna Matata, are expert trainers and very

100% recommend. My dog, Nara, and I had an excellent experience with Hakuna Matata’s 2 week board and train program. Joselyn communicated quickly and efficiently during the initial call and scheduling and answered all of my questions. Mike, the trainer, was awesome and really helped us understand Nara’s needs so we could continue training after the two weeks. The updates during Nara’s board and train were timely and helped me better understand what she was learning during training. She learned so much and we are so happy with the progress made. Overall I highly recommend Hakuna Matata for all your dog care & training needs! I’m also looking forward to taking Nara for day care!

We decided to send our 4 month old German Shepherd to Hakuna Matata and we could not have made a better decision. Our puppy was very hyper and reactive before training and now she is a completely different dog (for the better)! Between her heal & walking ability, her temperament, her place skills (with/without distractions), recall, and many more, we could not be more pleased! Joselyn & Mike run an absolutely incredible program and are extremely knowledgeable. We were so thankful to receive frequent texts/pictures/video updates on how our pup was doing at training to give us peace of mind she was being well taken care of. On our pup’s graduation day, Mike ran through a ton of different things between dog psychology, training drills, taking her on a walk with us, and answering any questions we had. He asked that we don’t ever hesitate to reach out and that goes to show that 1) they truly care a ton about your dog and 2) they care about making sure the owners are happy and have everything they need to continue a great life with your newly trained furry family member. We will most definitely be returning to Hakuna Matata whether it be for day camp, boarding, or another board and train
