Vets and pet-health businesses handle what a groomer cannot. General veterinarians and animal hospitals do checkups, vaccinations, dental cleanings, spaying and neutering and sick visits; emergency and 24-hour vets treat injuries and sudden illness at night and on weekends; mobile vets come to the house; rehab centers offer physical therapy, hydrotherapy and acupuncture; and pet pharmacies fill prescriptions and sell prescription diets. Groomers often spot skin problems, ear infections, lumps or overgrown nails first and will suggest a vet visit.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (217) 877-4393. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is northgatepetclinic.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

The staff are very kind and accommodating! I have a very scared and difficult pup. I so very much appreciate them taking their time with her and being understanding. I also appreciate them allowing for her to continue to see the same doctor even for a tech appointment to allow her the opportunity to grow trust and get better. I also appreciate them making me feel heard about knowing my dogs behavior and responding to her visit with what I’ve said in mind. Because of all of these points it makes their pricing worth every penny to me! Don’t forget to be kind to your veterinary staff ❤️

Normally I'll crack jokes or make my reviews sound like bad commercials, but there is no joking when it comes to pet care. Luckily, Dr. Dutra is every bit as down to Earth as I am about this. The office took us first thing in the morning, as new clients, saw both my puppy and cat at the same time. After a bunch of shots (which neither seemed to mind somehow), some necessary testing, and wellness check for both the babes, we were out of the office in just shy of an hour. I'm wholly convinced they didn't miss a thing. They are a little pricey, but their work is exemplary and their lab is incredibly advanced from what I've seen before. Also, the grounds, if you don't know, is seriously an adorable little almost small down town America for fur babies. There's a "Barkery" (too cute) for special treats, the main office, even a dentistry. We were a little too early to enjoy the entire experience, but we'll be back. Really, thank you all so much 💜

It was our Great Danes first visit, with all new people to meet, and she did great. Every single person welcomed her by name and I know she'll be happy to see them again. She gave her paw to shake/ get heartworm test and she just loves having her paw held:) So glad we decided to try Northgate. Everyone we had was awesome.

Northgate treated me and my cat Gus so sweetly. My cat was sick and they got him in very quickly and did a thorough examination and gave me the options of which option I would feel comfortable doing and gave me an estimate of what was going to be done. I deeply appreciated that. My cat is very fearful and they even made him comfortable. Luckily my Gus was fine. Everything is a bit expensive but I was given an option of what to do and I truly appreciated that. I would highly recommend Northgate. Everyone there is really great and seems like they really care about your fur baby.

We adore Northgate, and have continued to go to them as our primary vet despite having moved 30 minutes away several years ago. It is very much worth the drive for the peace of mind that comes with knowing our pets are being cared for by the most capable of hands. The entire staff is kind, compassionate, and very clearly care deeply about each of their patients and pet parents. We have had some terrible luck with our pets' health in the past several years, but the team at Northgate always makes the bad situations so much easier to handle, and always gives us all of the information and support we need to ensure we are making the right decisions for our pets. I applaud the veterinarians’, technicians’, and receptionists’ ability to navigate tough situations with so much empathy and compassion, and I appreciate each and every person working at Northgate. Thank you for always advocating for our pets, and thank you for ensuring they always get the best care possible! We appreciate you!
