Midtown Paw Spa

They are very easy to get ahold of when they want your business. That changes ones you’ve already paid. I took my dog in for a normal groomer trip. We’ve never had any issues, until last week when we took him here. Since, he has thrown up, licked constantly, not eaten, and is red everywhere. Even ended up being a trip to the vet. I called Friday, no response to the first call in the morning, tried again in the afternoon, they answered but the owner was out of office. I ended up texting all of the info over to her Friday afternoon, but was left with no response till Tuesday. Tuesday they responded by stating “I understand your concern and appreciate you taking the time to share it with us. After carefully reviewing the photos, veterinary documentation, and our appointment records, we are unable to confirm a grooming related injury occurred during the appointment.” We have never had an issues with any groomers in Owensboro. We only decided to come here due to a last second cancellation at our regular. If you care about your dog, keep them away, even if you have to wait another week or so for another groomer.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I usually go to another groomer but they were sick, so this groomer had an appointment available a few days later. We always do a short haircut. We expect the groomer to be knowledgeable in just how short the haircut can be/ what products can be used on the specific dog before it causes redness/irritation. My dog did not eat for days, shaking throughout multiple days, and licked himself before I had to call a vet. A $75 groom ended up being a $400 vet visit included. When brought to their attention for a refund on the grooming to put towards the vet bill they blamed my husband on asking for a short haircut and said our vet bill receipt and prescription wasn’t enough. If you love your dog, I would skip going to this place.

Our dog groomer retired and we had some disappointing experiences trying to find a new one. Then we found Midtown Paw Spa! I can't sing their praises loudly enough. They're incredibly friendly, fast, and do such a great job with our little shih-tzu. Highly recommend!

We are visiting our son in Owensboro and we brought our dog as well as his dog to be groomed. They did an excellent job! Will definitely bring our dog back next time we come for an extended visit.
