Innovative K9 Academy

Where to start? Innovative K9 Academy is incredible. We adopted Maggie- a two year old pit bull, who landed at Best Friends with an injured paw close to amputation. While she was there she became highly reactive and needed to find her forever home. She came to live with us in April and we knew our hands were full. Filled with anxiety, reactivity and aggression, we knew our hands were full. A friend who adopted a dog with similar behavior recommended David and team. I texted him immediately and got a fast response and she was off for 18 day training camp. David, Joe, Ty and team gave us the tools we needed to provide Maggie with what she needed- confidence, obedience and a structured environment. She has blossomed into the dog she was meant to be. She goes on walks everyday and we continue to reinforce everything we learned. In addition we board with Innovative K9 and have the peace of mind knowing she is safe and with a team that knows and loves her. We do the weekly dog classes and refreshers everytime we board. She is signed up for swim lessons next month! David and team helped us save Maggie’s life- I don’t know where we would be without them. Worth every penny and the best

After struggling with some behavioral challenges and wanting the best for our Rottweiler (1 year old) Rowan, we found Innovative K9 Academy. From our very first conversations, we were impressed David and Joe’s communication, knowledge, and patience not just with Rowan, but with us as owners as well. Throughout the training process, Joe kept us updated with videos that were not only incredibly informative but also genuinely entertaining. We loved watching the relationship and trust he was building with Rowan, and it was clear how much he truly cares about the dogs he works with. The videos gave us confidence in the process and often left us laughing while learning something new. The transformation in Rowan has been amazing. We now have a confident, well-behaved dog, while still keeping the same goofy/doofus, lovable personality we adore. Joe helped bring out the best version of our dog without changing who he is. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and highly recommend Innovative K9 Academy to anyone looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about both the dog and the owner. Thank you, Joe, for helping Rowan and us succeed!

If you have a reactive dog, take them to Joseph at Innovative K9 Academy! Our dog Annie was dealing with serious reactivity around smaller dogs and had even been kicked out of daycare. Joseph did an 18-day board and train with her and completely turned things around, and more importantly, he taught us to better understand her behavior. He formed an amazing connection with her, and we got back our same sweet girl, just incredibly well-mannered and controlled. Highly recommend!

Innovative K9 Academy completely transformed our lives. We hit a total breaking point with our Mini Aussie puppy, Piglet. Despite five months of dedicated positive-reinforcement classes and hours spent training per day, she was a nightmare on the leash, barked constantly, and only listened if a treat was involved. We were exhausted and desperate when I found Innovative K9. David called me immediately, spent an hour answering my questions, and put our minds at ease about their methods. We enrolled Piglet in the 18-day boot camp. Her trainer, Ty, was phenomenal! He spent over a hour talking to us at drop off and sent daily photo and video updates. We were terrified the training might change her personality, but she came back just as sweet as ever—just MUCH better behaved! Two months out, she now has 100% off-leash recall, heels very well, and goes to the office with my husband every day. We’re able to take her most places with us, but she is well-behaved when left home in her play pen. We also love their "board and refresh" travel option and the group park classes. If you are at your wit's end with a stubborn puppy, do not hesitate to trust this team!

This is a mini novel- but if you're considering a training facility for your fur family, please read my review and feel reassured. No coercion or perks- just an honest review from a very grateful pet parent. I have two Rottweilers (Bear and Roxy) that are my babies and have my whole heart, so the idea of sending them away for training (especially as puppies) was challenging. That being said- sending them to Innovative K9 Academy for the Puppy to Adult training program was the absolute BEST thing we could have done for them and our family. Our first pup went down 5 years ago for the 2-part puppy to adult training; it has been relieving to have a place to occasionally board him when necessary where he recognizes the staff, facility, and where I know he isn't just sitting in a kennel but instead being engaged and reinforcing the skills previously learned. In the past year we ran into some challenging behaviors with Bear and I called Innovative for advice. David sat on the phone with me for over an hour as I explained, questioned, and even cried. It was never a sales pitch for more training- only advice, comfort, and caring for us AND Bear. Ultimately we sent him back for behavior mo
