Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

Bakersfield is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Bakersfield is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I can’t explain how upset I am with this place. I made my reservation MONTHS ago for a boarding reservation today at 5:30 PM. I received an email that says “we have received your reservation request” and I quote “We will update you once the status of your reservation has been confirmed BY OUR STAFF.” Shortly after, I received an email saying my boarding reservation has been confirmed, meaning, THEIR STAFF saw the date, the time, and pushed CONFIRM. I even got an email yesterday reminding me of my reservation. So today, I show up with my dogs at the reservation time only to see a piece of paper in the window that they closed early at 5 PM for July 4th. I wasn’t called, emailed, notified in any way. I’m standing outside the door like an idiot calling and ringing the Ring doorbell. No answers. Now I have to cancel my plans to be with my dogs who are scared of the fireworks, which is exactly why I was boarding them in the first place. Three days later, after asking for a refund, they told me and I quote, “I am sorry to hear about that, but we have had those flyers up for over a month and we do have holiday hours posted on our website and on the door to both buildings.” Then when I cal

I highly recommend this place for boarding your pets, especially if you have cats! They take wonderful care of your pets and are very kind! I also love the daily pictures of my kitties as we are currently displaced from our home temporarily. The cat groomers are wonderful with cats and do a beautiful job!

Baker absolutely loves his day care & grooming visits! The staff is awesome and they treat Baker like family! He is a Husky and after he gets groomed he looks amazing every time. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

I use Fur and Feathers for Boarding, daycare, and grooming. My dog stays overnight multiple times per year when we are away from town and the staff are always happy to welcome Chaco and hang out with him. Chaco is excited every time we are in the area and loves playing with the other dogs during his stay. Leslie is our Groomer and she is outstanding! Fast, efficient, and fair priced. We get Chaco groomed usually once per month and he always comes back looking dapper!
