I don’t usually write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience in hopes of protecting someone else’s dog. I brought my dog to Dogtopia in Tempe after he had previously been attacked at another daycare due to poor screening and inattentiveness. Dogtopia’s structured pack model and safety protocols initially gave me confidence. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected. On multiple occasions, I received notifications that it was “normal” for dogs to get sick until they got used to each other. Several veterinary and canine care professionals have since told me this is not accurate. My dog ended up with such a severe case of kennel cough that his eyes were hemorrhaging. The vet bill was over $600, and I had to cancel a work trip to stay home and care for him. The dogs spend long hours in the same room while going to the bathroom inside. While the staff does clean promptly, the environment still didn’t seem healthy – especially with how strongly my dog smelled of urine when I picked him up. Summary: My experience with this facility has been extremely disappointing, concerning, and unacceptable. I was charged multiple unexplained fees over several months. I repeatedly complained about the lack of cleanliness and supervision, which directly affected my dog and led him to develop a serious habit of eating poop. They overcharged me for overnight boarding and even FAILED TO FEED MY DOG during his stay. When I complained, they were quick to send me their policies and parent agreement, but when I asked what happens when they fail to do their job, they stopped responding. Full context: I am extremely disappointed by my experience with this facility after they took advantage of the trust and love I had placed in them... First, for months, I was charged multiple unexplained fees of more than $30, and it was only after I complained that they finally issued a refund. That means that if I had not caught it myself and spoken up, they would have simply kept my money. That alone shows a serious lack of transparency and accountability. Dogtopia of Tempe is AMAZING! Everyone there is super friendly. I admire Jazzi so much! And the billing team is great too. They know who they are <3 But the web cameras too are are a huge help when im missing my fur babies. I’m always able to check in on them. I just love the Tempe location so so much!

Meredith has been going to Dogtopia for nearly 2½ years, and they’ve been wonderful. The staff is caring, the space is clean, and they’re very flexible with day‑of appointments. They always respond quickly, and Meredith comes home happy every time. Also their monthly photo shoot days are always something to look forward to 🫶🏼✨

Our experience with Dogtopia was a mix of highs and lows. The meet and greet day was excellent, Ava was incredibly attentive, engaged with the dogs, kept the area clean, and even provided a thoughtful end-of-day report. Her professionalism gave me real confidence in the facility, and I left feeling excited about bringing my dog back. Unfortunately, our second visit was a different story. The room attendant didn’t introduce herself, provide any updates, or show much engagement at all. I observed several urine and feces messes left unattended, which other dogs walked through, creating a bigger hygiene issue. Worse, the attendant appeared distracted and spent long periods on her company phone. I was informed by Gloria that this is how they receive pet updates. What upset me most was that I had made it very clear—multiple times—that my dog has never been crated and I did not want him placed in a cage. I specifically requested he nap in one of the spa suites, as shown to me during the tour. Despite this, he was left in a cage, barking nonstop, something he's been trained not to do and hasn't done in years. Even after I called to have him moved, it took nearly 20 minutes, and he was st
