Ask whether the groomer is certified, how dogs are dried (cage dryers versus hand drying), whether rabies vaccination proof is required in Pennsylvania, and how long your pet will stay. Most dogs need a groom every four to eight weeks. Saturdays and the weeks before holidays book up first, so schedule ahead and check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Terrible service. I asked them to cut my pet's hair in a specific way, but they did a poor job; furthermore, the cut wasn't even—they left some patches of hair long while others were short. I am completely dissatisfied with their service.

This was my first time getting my dog groomed, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the staff were so kind, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment I walked in. My dog is very sweet, but he absolutely hates having his paws touched (he’s a corgi) even the vet won’t do it. I honestly told them not to worry about trying to clip his nails, so I was shocked when they were able to get all of them done! Not to mention they must have been incredibly patient and gentle with him. I was fully expecting him to be extremely anxious and nervous when I picked him up (he can get a little weird in new places), but he was actually so happy and relaxed. That really showed me how well they treated him and how much care they gave him throughout the process. On top of that, his haircut looks amazing and I know how squirmy he can be, so that’s no small feat! I’m beyond impressed and will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my baby!

The absolute best! I’ve trusted them with my dogs for years. They are professional, kind, & compassionate. They recently helped with an emergency rescue groom. If you want groomers who truly care - you found them!

Katy and tam are amazing with my two pups. I have been going to them for 15 years now. They started with my rottie and when I got my yorkie I took her there. Now I take my yorkie and Great Dane to them. They take pride in what they do. Always making sure the pups are good. They treat my dogs as their own. They are personable. Grooming is top tier! My dogs come back feeling brand new. Their nails are always clipped and eyes are always clean and smelling great from their bath. My yorkies haircut always looks amazing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I would always take my dogs to tam and Kate as long as they are in business. They are family to us now and my dogs wouldn’t know anyone else. They are the best of the best. Thanks for always taking care of my dogs. You guys are amazing

I’m extremely disappointed with Canine Clippers in Manayunk. My dog has been going here regularly for almost a year, so I trusted his grooming was being handled properly. After missing one appointment, we bathed him at home and noticed he was sensitive about one paw. When we looked closer, we found his dewclaw had grown so long it had curled into and was embedded in his paw pad. This does not happen in a few weeks. It was clearly missed over multiple visits. We had to cut it out ourselves just to relieve his pain, and even then it was still overgrown and sore. My dog is a rescue who came to us with neglected nail growth, so keeping his nails properly maintained is especially important to us. The fact that he ended up back in pain from something so basic and preventable shows a serious lack of care and attention. I would not trust them with my dog again. =========== 4/1 Edit: The owner suggested this could be due to a long quick. That is not the case. My dog has white claws, and I was able to safely trim AND grind the nail multiple times without getting near the quick. I checked all four dewclaws and they showed the same level of overgrowth well beyond what a “long quick” woul
