I do not recommend in the slightest. I’m not someone who typically takes to social media to criticize a business especially a small one. I tend to extend grace, often more than I should. That said, I am extremely disappointed in the level of care my dog received this weekend, and I do not recommend taking your pets to A Barkingham Palace (formerly Locks of Love). My biggest concern is the owner’s lack of accountability and basic professionalism. When I reached out, calmly and without accusation, to inquire whether anything may have occurred during my dog’s visit, the response was dismissive, defensive, and unnecessarily rude talking over me rather than having a mature, respectful conversation. For someone with “35 years” in business, that lack of professionalism is concerning. I was never asked about temperament, vaccination records, or any standard intake questions something that, in hindsight, should have been a red flag.u Two days later, my dog was still in visible pain. She is struggling to walk, relying heavily on her front legs to sit and stand, whimpering when touched, and noticeably withdrawn. I recently brought my dog to this place and had a really great experience. One of the assistants helped me and she was extremely friendly, patient, and understanding. Even though I didn’t end up bringing my dog in for grooming that day, she still took the time to talk with me and made me feel very welcomed. You can tell she truly cares about both the pets and the people who come in. The environment felt very warm and welcoming, almost like a family atmosphere. It’s always nice to go somewhere where the staff are kind and genuinely helpful. Based on my experience alone, I would definitely recommend this place to others and will be coming back in the future.

Beware of surprise costs. I arrived to pick up my puppy to be informed that it was $40 extra because he was matted and that his nails had been dremeled which was also an extra fee. I informed them that his nail had been cut under sedation at the vet and didn’t need it. She mentioned that they did bleed when dremeled. I requested a teddy bear face. His cut was low all over and choppy so nothing was combed out.. Not a tardy bear in sight… moreso a shave cut that wasn’t requested. No one called me to inform me of any additional fees or changes to the cut while he was with them from 8am-3pm. Overall, I just feel as if it would be professional to inform customers about the cost and change in cut. I would have like to have known about the additional charges and I would like to have known that the cut would not be the one requested before arriving to pick him up. It felt scammy. I’m not one to make a scene so I paid but I will not be returning unfortunately. Also, I will have to pay someone else to go behind them to make him look a little more presentable.

Today I took my dog ​​to get her hair cut, and it was a terrible experience. Besides the awful cut, they damaged her nails. I had to go back to the groomer because one of her paws was bleeding heavily, and the owner was incredibly arrogant. She said it was normal, that she had 35 years of experience, and that I shouldn't tell her how to do her job. What an experience! I've had my dog ​​for three years, and nothing like this has ever happened to her. It was the first and last time I'll ever take her to that place.

I brought my fur baby in on today thinking I would get good quality service and when I picked her up her cut was horrible my baby had deep cuts all over her which I expected some nicks here and there being that she was somewhat matted but this patchy uneven cut looks horrible not only that the owner felt the need to text my phone getting sassy 0/10 my baby will not be back! I will never cheat on her original dog groomer again lesson definitely learned!!!
