This group covers shelters, breeders and the other places pet owners use: animal shelters and rescues place dogs and cats for adoption and often run low-cost vaccine and spay clinics; breeders raise puppies and kittens of particular breeds; pet cremation services and cemeteries help when a pet dies; pet photographers take portraits, often right after a fresh groom; and pet-friendly hotels and places welcome dogs. New Orleans is in Louisiana, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in New Orleans peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Michelle is an angel. I just got a new rescue puppy and needed a playpen. She was able to lend me one that she had and even had a crate that was more appropriate. She was sitting there putting together furniture, on her own. She is so kind and clearly loves her babies so much.

Very, very proud and happy Zeus’ Rescues owners here! The team helped us consider our family and house dynamics, including needing to find a dog that would do okay with a very bossy cat, as well as a growing kid, and matched us with the perfect dog - Maverick. That was three years ago. She came to us fully vaxxed and in great health. A year later the Zeus’ Rescues team helped us find a best friend for Maverick, our second dog, David “Big Papi” Ortiz.

I decided to volunteer with my husband to walk dogs and drop off a donation while on vacation! The experience was incredible. The dogs were so happy on the walks! It was such a gratifying experience. Please volunteer if you can!

To anyone interested in adopting a young cat from Zeus Rescues (currently ~1.5 years old): This is Alexis, Castiele’s fosterer for the past 2 months. Unfortunately, I can’t permanently adopt him as I am flying back to my home country. Here’s my honest review of this lovely ball of fur – the least I can do. Castiele is such a sweet and gentle cat and it was a blessing to have him around the house. I love him to bits. He never once bit me/ intentionally scratch me (unless its during playtime). He would need a loving family who would shower him with love and attention. Once he feels at home, Castiele cuddles and loves to be carried around. I usually wake up with him asleep, leaning onto me. He is a very vocal cat, and he meows when he craves your company (very lovely cat!) Other than that, he simply chills near his owner or occupies himself by playing with his shrimp toy (his favourite!). Best of all, and I think this is what makes him so unique, is that he plays fetch just like a dog! Overall, I’d rate him 100/10..a precious and priceless companion for any home. If you’re at Zeus, do ask to meet up with Castiele.. I can vouch that he’s one of the most gentle and lovely cat I’ve inte

I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Zeus’...this place is amazing! We had a lot of restrictions on what kind of dog we could adopt and the staff helped match us with our little Harvey and helped us make sure he adapted to his new home. We’ve gone back to Zeus’ for regular grooming and they’re always kind, quick and professional. We could not be more grateful for the work they’re doing.
