Vets and pet-health businesses handle what a groomer cannot. General veterinarians and animal hospitals do checkups, vaccinations, dental cleanings, spaying and neutering and sick visits; emergency and 24-hour vets treat injuries and sudden illness at night and on weekends; mobile vets come to the house; rehab centers offer physical therapy, hydrotherapy and acupuncture; and pet pharmacies fill prescriptions and sell prescription diets. Groomers often spot skin problems, ear infections, lumps or overgrown nails first and will suggest a vet visit.

Corvallis is in Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. Getting around Corvallis is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I’ve gone to the GP side for about a year now and I love Dr. Clark and Dr. Popowich who just started! The technicians are always wonderful with Murphy for his cytopoint injections and all staff is great with communication. I have not used them for ER so I cannot speak to that side of things but I’ve had a wonderful experience with the staff Meredith and the technician Rylee!

Great emergency and ICU level care for my sweet baby boy cat Moon who suffered a major medical emergency and required immediate treatment! As soon as I got there we were seen. I appreciated the time each vet took to call and update me and answer all of my questions and take the extra time to educate. This is my 4th time taking an animal of mine to this vet hospital for either end of life or emergency care and have always had great experiences. Moon is happy to be home

I was on a day-trip hiking in Corvallis with my dog. She developed what I suspected to be pyoderma. We are not local, so I called around. This clinic was able to fit me in quickly and every staff member I interacted with was kind, competent, and compassionate. They were more than happy to allow me to remain with my dog and conduct the exam with some specific restraint/positioning techniques we have trained. I explained to them that she has a sordid history with handling aggression, particularly with strangers, but we have created protocols that keep her and staff safe and relaxed. They could have requested that she be immediately muzzled (which would be COMPLETELY FAIR; I brought her muzzle with because vet staff deserve to feel safe and not put at undue risk) and not allowed me to be the one restraining and/or conducting specific targeting exercises to manipulate her body in the appropriate way for the exam. But they did. I was also impressed that the DVM we saw had some orthopedic knowledge - not all do! Great clinic, great experience. Thank you guys for helping me and my girl out. She is the love of my life, and you helped her feel better. For that I am forever grateful! Olivia

Ours was a very unfortunate situation, and throughout our experience, every member of the staff were hugely kind, supportive and compassionate. They tried very hard to bring a positive outcome to our sweet girl’s situation, and they held our hearts when we had to make the hardest decision one can make when it comes to our fur babies, and accept that ours would not be a positive outcome. I respect these folks immensely for the job that they do, and will continue to have them care for our remaining fur babies.

Update: I had to call for file notes and itemized receipts for insurance purposes and received fast, helpful, friendly response from Roan. Thanks again for taking such great care of my dog and me! The best service! Everyone was so kind, got my dog in for an urgent surgery and took amazing care of him! Danyelle, Ian and Dr. Omalley were awesome! Thank you!❤️
