On the night of July 15, 2026, we brought our beloved 15-year-old dog, Maile, to VCA Oso Creek for humane euthanasia due to acute respiratory distress caused by lung cancer. The staff insisted on removing her from our arms to place an IV catheter in the back. Before taking her, the staff explicitly and verbally assured us that she would not be given any medications or sedatives while separated from us. Predictably, separating a fragile, terminal dog from her owners in a crisis caused her panic and respiratory symptoms to escalate. Instead of returning her to our care to calm her, the clinic chose operational efficiency.Upon requesting Maile’s official medical logs, we discovered a shocking contradiction. While out of our sight, Dr. Allred immediately administered 0.2 ml of IV Acepromazine—a potent tranquilizer—without our knowledge or consent. When she was finally returned to the room, she was completely unresponsive and profoundly sedated. We actually thought she might already be dead. Because the clinic lied to us about the medication, my wife and I were stripped of our final conscious moments and a shared goodbye with our companion of 15 years. They managed the clinical side o

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. DO NOT COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!! (Ik this is a long review but many others have had the same problem) My cat got attacked by a dog. He had a ball on his stomach and feared very bad internal damage. Got there at 12 midnight, told the lady he got attacked by a dog and she immediately took him to the back. I thought okay great, 30 minutes after (12:30am) a guy comes and tells me “we gave him a pain med and we’ll take you to the back shorty to discuss what’s going on”. I’m thinking great. An hour and half later (2am) and not a single soul has said a word to me. Not an update on how he’s doing or anything. Front lady tells me my room is ready and the doctor will be with me shortly (2:05am). ANOTHER hour and half goes by and again not a single soul comes into the room and tells me what’s going on(3:30am). My cat could have been bleeding internally this whole time and not a single update was given. I can hear them talking and laughing in the back having conversations but no one came to check up on me and inform me what’s going on. Technician comes in at (3:35am) and asks me questions about what happen. I ask her how he’s doing and if a

The nurse literally said: “Aww, she’s so pretty. Is it a she? I can never tell if it’s a boy or a girl”, and then proceeded to ask me what my form of payment would be for euthanizing my male cat. He was in my arms because they had brought him to say goodbye while this commentary was made. When I was handed the promissory note for payment, I pointed out that I am paid monthly and bi-weekly payments do not work for me. She didn’t edit the note, and said: “I’m new, just call the payment office because the lady is really nice.” I was also told to google Canines and Kitties in Corpus Christi as they would be glad to help me cover the cost of my cat’s euthanasia. This was all while he was in my arms, still alive. After I got home I noticed the monetary totals on the promissory note detailing total payments did not match, and that the payment dates were biweekly starting a week after I had already paid an installment for his euthanasia. My cat passed on the early morning of 7/9, and the next payment was written in to be due 7/15, and so on. During the visit, I was asked if I could pay with Affirm because I could not afford the $3k upfront they were asking of me before treating my cat for

My husband and I took our 8 week old puppy there at midnight! She was severely lethargic, dehydrated, diarrhea with very foul smell, and needed immediate attention. We sat in the waiting room for 3 hours before they pulled us into an exam room, and then sat in an exam room for another 3.5 hours and never even got an exam or spoke to a vet!!! Finally, after 6am, almost 7 HOURS of waiting with absolutely no progress or help for our puppy, I decided it was time for us to leave. I asked them several times to at least subQ her some fluids while we waited or something to help her, and they did absolutely NOTHING to help my poor little fur baby.... DO NOT take your fur baby there if you need immediate treatment and attention! Had i kept waiting, im not sure my baby would've even made it. That was the worst experience I have ever had with a vets office or animal hospital! There was 4 people that came in after us that went in before us, and even 1 other lady who was in the exam room and came out and stated she wasn't waiting anymore and left.... for being the ONLY 24hr animal hospital locally, it's really sad that they dont seem to care about to patients at all! And i drove all the way from

I cannot thank VCA Oso Creek enough for taking care of my sweet Nola girl to the very end. She was my everything. We first came to VCA for a second opinion after her primary vet misdiagnosed cancer in two of her paws. The team thoroughly evaluated her, completed x-rays, and confirmed it was arthritis. From that moment on, I knew we were in the right place. A little over a month ago, we returned due to fluid in her abdomen. We were told it was likely a ruptured tumor and possibly aggressive cancer. They gave us the time and space to make an incredibly difficult decision. Dr. Vaughn was extremely thorough and honest. He performed her surgery and removed what he could. She stayed a few nights, and the doctors called daily with updates. The vet techs were always kind when I called or came to visit. Her pathology came back as Hemangiosarcoma — an aggressive cancer. We were told we may only have a month or two. She gave me two beautiful weeks, and I will always be grateful for that time. When it was time to say goodbye, they handled everything with compassion and dignity. They truly cared about Nola and about me. A very special thank you to Dr. Vaughn, Dr. Mircovich, Amanda, Ashley,
