I brought my dog, Reggie, to Valor Emergency Veterinary Hospital on a Saturday evening because he developed a wound during his recovery from IVDD spinal surgery. My only concern that night was having the wound evaluated to ensure it wasn’t becoming infected. I was not seeking a second opinion on his IVDD or neurological prognosis. After examining the wound for only about 5–10 minutes, the veterinarian on shift that night shifted the focus of the appointment away from the reason for my visit and began discussing Reggie’s long-term prognosis. He told me dogs like Reggie had less than a 50% chance of recovery, stated that he had no deep pain sensation, said he was not a candidate for a wheelchair because he was still leaking urine despite being only eight days post-op, and shared a story about another dog who developed a bladder infection and died. None of those discussions were related to why I had come to the emergency clinic. The hardest part of the visit was that the conversation planted doubt where there hadn’t been any before. My surgeon has extensive experience treating IVDD and has been honest and direct with me from the beginning. He has never sugar-coated Reggie’s conditio

I was there on the morning of 7/12/2026 with my very sick kitten. The receptionist, Demi, was beyond sweet, even her voice was sweet. She had such a dulcet voice and was just so caring and helped me with everything I needed. The RVT, Sarah, was also so nice and helped me decide on the best treatment I could afford. The Veterinarian, Dr. Wilkes, was also so very nice and took her time explaining every thing to me. Sadly, my kitten had to be put down due to being born with kidney failure at just 7 weeks. I’m so heartbroken to say the least. The staff that day was amazing and I’m so thankful for them.

Unfortunately, my family had to come to Valor for their end of life services. Our golden retriever, Stanley, was very sick and we knew it was time to let him go. Every staff member was gracious, kind and empathetic and treated Stanley, and I with care and compassion. They gave us a lovely card, with ink prints of Stanley's nose & paws, and treated him with respect. I don't wish this experience on anyone, but am thankful for the amazing service they provided.

Words can not fully express just how thankful I am for Valor ER. We took our 10 year old baby Margeaux at 4:30 am after noticing she was definitely not acting right and had some bloody diarrhea. They took her back for triage and we met with Dr. Trachtenberg who was very clear on her labs and what he thought was going on. We get home and think everything is ok and then our 15 year old Beaux has even worse symptoms. Blood is everywhere and we are in a panic. We call and say we're headed back up there. This time we met with Dr. Monceaux who evaluates Beaux. They're both diagnosed with gastroenteritis and pancreatitis. From the moment we stepped in the door, every single person we met was so nice and comforting. They explained EVERYTHING and nothing was done without our approval and without us knowing the price. What makes them standout is the heart they have for our babies. They love them like it's their own. They go the extra mile with calling twice a day for updates, texts with financial updates, and pictures 3 times a day. As a pet parent, that peace of mind is PRICELESS. I have never experienced such love and compassion for my kiddos. One of the girls even called after they had be

I had to bring our dog in late at night when she suddenly became very sick. The staff was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, it was clear they were genuinely concerned and truly cared about her. Everyone was compassionate, professional, and incredibly accommodating. They took their jobs seriously and did everything possible for our girl. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it, something I sadly expected when I carried her through the door. Even in that moment, the team showed real empathy and handled her with dignity and respect. They even made prints of her paws and nose and cut locks of her hair for my three kids who were out of town. The pricing was fair, not cheap, but reasonable for the emergency care she received. I hope I never have to come back, but if I ever do, this clinic will be my first and only choice.
