If you’re looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cares about dogs, I highly recommend Joe at Ultimate Canine. We started with five in-home sessions when our Bernese Mountain Dog was five months old, then enrolled her in the two-week Stay & Train program at 7½ months. The combination was exactly what we were looking for. The in-home sessions taught us how to work with our dog, and the Stay & Train helped her become reliable even in high-distraction environments. Our goal was a well-mannered giant-breed dog who would be enjoyable to live with, confident around people, and a pleasure to take anywhere. Joe helped us transform a puppy who liked to jump, play bite, and pull on the leash into a well-mannered dog with reliable obedience and excellent leash manners. A month after training, she’s doing great, and the skills have held up because we continue practicing them at home. What impressed me most was Joe’s approach. He genuinely loves dogs, and it shows. His training is kind, respectful, and fun, so she was always excited to work with him. He also took the time to explain why dogs behave the way they do and tailored the training to our specific goal

Ultimate Canine is uniquely excellent. I have had 5 German Shepherds, all of whom were trained by Ultimate Canine. We have had both on site and in home training, boarding (including my young female when she was in heat) and bathing. The training is effective and fun. The dogs are praised, rewarded and treated with love and understanding. Carissa, our trainer is immensely knowledgeable and kind. She is very willing to share her expertise and address any concerns that may pop up even outside of class. Julie is a wonderful person who truly puts the dogs first. When one of my dogs decided he wasn't going to eat, Julie cooked chicken for him, tried multiple approaches and foods to get him to eat and was successful. He was on appetite stimulants at home and despite this had been losing weight. Julie stayed in touch with me constantly regarding his progress and I cannot thank her enough. They also have a vet on staff, which is a huge benefit. You can receive photos of your dogs enjoying their stay from kennel staff. The people at reception are always helpful, and extremely pleasant. The facility is immaculately clean and there is always a friendly, happy and energetic atmosphere at UC.

We have worked with Ultimate Canine for over a year now and HIGHLY recommend them. It is well worth the investment. The entire team is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, friendly and accommodating. It’s clear they love dogs and are passionate about what they do. We’ve actually had a few neighbors work with them on specific training needs since and have also heard nothing but positive things. We welcomed home our golden retriever, Rosie, when she was a little puppy last January. At the time, we had a 1.5 year old and I was pregnant with our second. My husband and I felt insane bringing a puppy into the mix, and knew we needed to work with a reputable dog trainer to feel comfortable in our decision. At first, we purchased 5 in home lessons and immediately started working with Tyler when Rosie came home. It was amazing how quickly Rosie picked up basic skills (and then some) but even more surprised how much Tyler taught us. Outside of the basic commands, he helped us understand how to handle a puppy around a mess of toddler toys, he helped us understand how to handle puppy nipping, potty training, crate training, etc. He’s also helped Rosie become great on leash - including wal

Incredible training, people, high caliber and personal who love what they do…we cannot say enough about how amazing our new dog from Ultimate Canine has been . This place is beyond - and their experience, where their dogs go (police, schools, medical, rehab and family etc!) says so much Thank you Julie, Sheila & team! If you’re a busy person or family like ours (or a mom like me who says “we’re not getting a dog) this is for you or if If you want a well-trained dog that can truly fit into your life, Ultimate Canine is exceptional. Whether you already have a dog that needs training or you’re starting from the beginning and want help finding the right puppy, their team is the top. Our experience started when we first connected with Julie. From that first conversation we knew we were in good hands. The puppy we had originally seen on their website was no longer available — it had already been placed at a nationally recognized rehabilitation center, which immediately told us a lot about the caliber of dogs they produce. Julie let us know another litter was coming from their preferred breeder in Lafayette and personally evaluated it to help find a puppy with the temperament that would b

We cannot say enough about Julie and the entire Ultimate Canine team. From start to finish, this experience has been truly life-changing for our family. Julie has an incredible gift for matching the right dog with the right family. Bohdi is not just an exceptional dog, he is the perfect dog for our daughter Julia. The care, intention, and expertise that went into selecting and training him is evident in everything he does. He has already become a complete game changer for our family, and it’s clear he was trained with immense love, structure, and purpose. We want to give special recognition to Joby, who spent five full days with our family helping us transition and acclimate to Bohdi. Joby is kind, patient, knowledgeable, and deeply compassionate. He didn’t just hand off a dog, he supported our entire family with care and confidence, making sure we felt prepared every step of the way. His time, presence, and dedication meant more to us than words can express. It truly takes a village, and we are grateful to everyone at Ultimate Canine who played a role in training and caring for Bohdi. He is a remarkable, special dog, and it shows how much heart and expertise goes into this prog
