Twickenton Dog & Cat Grooming

I brought my Pomeranian mix in for "Spring cleaning" , but I can't say I was impressed with the results. I asked for a "full grooming" including wash, dry, and haircut. The communication was muddled (lots of people there participating in one conversation over the phone and all asking each other or chiming in - that could have been streamlined for professionalism and ease) and not overly clear. The grooming itself was somehow an all day event (drop off between 8 am and 10 am, pick up at 3 pm) and when I picked him up, he looked exactly the same as he does when I give him a bath at home, except with tufts of extra hair blowing all over my car on the way home. I didn't find the warm and welcoming atmosphere I was hoping for, I didn't feel the business or its staff gave an air of professionalism, and the result for my dog was that he looked roughly the same as when he got there. A bath and blow dry at home would have saved me a trip, an entire day (it takes me less than an hour to do it all myself), and would not have cost the same as one of MY haircuts. Long story short - no reason for me to go back.

Love this place! I still bring my dog there even though I moved to the South Shore. Hey, he's family. Plus, I never have to worry about my dog when he's there. They treat him well, and he always looks like quite the dapper dog after they work their magic.

Thanks to Elisha, my 10 year old English Springer Spaniel, Benny, looks as handsome and distinguished as ever! I’ve been taking Benny to be groomed at Twickenton for the last 5 years and I’m always thrilled with how spiffy he looks after each of his “spa days.” (And he smells good too!) Thank you to the entire Twickenton team who are always so friendly and helpful.

This place is Great!!! Very professional! Most, if not all the groomers working have been there for quite sometime. 20/30 years some of them. They are in a league of their own. They have past awards on the wall and the over all feeling in there was calm, safe and pleasant. Yoshi, my mini long hair Dachshund didn’t want to leave. 10/10. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you all at Twickenton for all the great work and service you provide!!!

I am not the one to leave reviews like this, but this is absolutely THE WORST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Not only did they not call me to tell me that they would be shaving my golden doodles and their tails (big no no for doods), but it was $200!! I understand that dogs can get matted, especially doods, but I have only seen dogs shaved like this that have been seriously neglected. When I picked them up the lady outside asked me what she could do and kept saying “I’m so sorry” because she could clearly see that I was upset. I said there was nothing that she could do and that I will try to fix it myself. It will take at least a year for their tails to grow back possibly even longer. I have posted before and after pics of my sweet girls and I am honestly so horrified at this entire experience. I live in Dedham and will be telling every single person that I know NEVER to go to your salon again and showing them these photos as well.
