Reno is in Nevada, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Nevada's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.
