Tony’s Orange County Dog Training & Cognitive Behavior Specialist
Serving all of Orange County, I specialize in puppy training and canine cognitive behavior, helping owners raise emotionally balanced and well-adjusted dogs. My programs focus on how dogs think, learn, and self-regulate rather than obedience or food-based training. This science-backed approach addresses the root cause of behavior problems like biting, jumping, leash frustration, and anxiety. Through applied cognitive learning and developmental structure, I guide you in creating calm, confident, and thoughtful companions while transforming the way you understand dog behavior and training in Orange County.

Dog trainers teach puppy classes, basic and advanced obedience, leash manners and agility, in group classes, private lessons or board-and-train programs; certified behaviorists work on fear, aggression and separation anxiety, often alongside a vet; and dog parks give dogs a fenced, off-leash place to run and meet other dogs.

Getting around Irvine is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We had a great overall experience with Tony. Our dog, Zoey, responded positively to his unconventional methods. Tony’s techniques were distinctive, focusing on latent behaviors and helping us grasp Zoey's perspective, needs, and personality. Although it required a significant amount of time and effort, we are ultimately pleased to have gained the tools to understand and manage Zoey's behavior. Tony’s encouragement and support throughout the entire process were the highlights of working with him. Tony excels at reading both people and dogs and is accessible through individual Zoom sessions and group sessions. He always prioritized Zoey's best interests, and I would recommend Tony to anyone seeking a unique latent learning program and preferring an online format via Zoom.

Tony’s program is pack full of knowledge, experience and a solid mind set. My family adopted a rescue and thankfully had no issues but not knowing his background and having a toddler, it was important to know what MIGHT we face…we learned a lot about our boy. His personality, his way of thinking and patterns that we can anticipate as he settles in to his new, permanent family. Tony’s program is unlike many…it’s not obedience training..it’s more connecting to your dog and helping them think for themselves, which in turned gave our dog the best behavior. Highly recommend his program and all the perks that come along with it. Do it BEFORE you’re frustrated with your dog and let them shine!

Tony taught me some very wonderful ways to teach my babies. I have wolf dogs and one was hyper aggressive, but with a bit of help from Tony the following photo was possible.

As owners of happy and safe higher percentage wolfdogs, we thought we understood canines and latent learning. After meeting Tony and hearing him describe their behavior, we realized we still had a LOT to learn. Tony showed us how to calm our most confident and energetic wolfdog with no tools, tricks, or training - it blew our mind. Tony sees canines differently than anyone I’ve ever met and if you are fortunate to learn his life story, you’ll understand why. For a potential owner, a new owner, or someone wanting to shape their dog’s behavior without them knowing (😉), I highly recommend Tony’s help. When we breed at Lupine Grove, owners will be offered lessons from Tony on our dime because we want our pups to benefit from his knowledge. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been working with Tony off and on for the behavior of my dog. His approach is really unique in which it involves absolutely zero training. I have worked with other dog trainers in Orange County as well as other behaviorist only to find my way back to Tony to help me undo what another trainer or behaviorist has caused. I never realized how harmful dog training can be to a dogs mind, until I learned why from Tony and his staff.
