About The Grooming Den
Servicing all of your dog and cat pet grooming needs!
The Grooming Den is a pet groomer in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. It is listed at 58 Fairhaven Rd, Mattapoisett, MA 02739, which places it among the local businesses of Mattapoisett that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 6 am–3 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Mattapoisett is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Mattapoisett is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. I drove to The Grooming Den from Wareham because I had such a hard time finding someone willing to groom a cat around here. I'm so glad I found The Grooming Den. My long-haired beauty was a rescue and is still adapting to her new life. She is very wiggly and very sassy. Thanks to her treatment a medical condition, she put on a lot of weight and stopped grooming. I couldn't keep up with the mats. The groomer here is so calm and chill, he has the exact right vibes to work with animals. And he was able to give her a full lion cut and get rid of all the mats. Everything worked smoothly- drop off, pick-up. No surprises (other than she is perfectly shaved!). My cat is also very happy right now. Highly recommend.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again—Jay and Kerry are simply the best. They don’t just treat me and my girls like family; they genuinely care about every dog that walks through their doors. My older German Shepherd has a lot of anxiety (as many shepherds do). I switched her to The Grooming Den over a year ago, and after picking her up yesterday from her fluff and buff, I was reminded once again that it was one of the best decisions I could have made. With her previous groomer, I could hear her throwing herself against the door trying to get out. Now, when we walk into The Grooming Den, she calmly stands by my side and patiently waits for Jay to come get her. That alone speaks volumes. My Husky/Shepherd mix has never known another groomer besides Jay and Kerry, and I’m so thankful for that. My two dogs have completely different personalities and needs, yet they’re always cared for as individuals. They take the time to understand each dog and tailor their care accordingly. One of my favorite things is getting photo updates throughout their appointments. Every picture shows happy, relaxed pups—not stressed or scared. It’s more like they’re saying, “Hey Mom, look at us! We’re

Brought my dogs to Jay for the first time yesterday. The dogs hadn't been bathed in a while as well as nails and ears. The end result was 3 dogs that were literally transformed. The crew did an outstanding job. I was really blown away`!! Great business!!

I love that I don’t have to make an appointment for my cat’s nail trimming, and the service is always so quick and efficient. Chloe is always calm, and she smells so good when they’re done with her nails. It’s such a convenient and pleasant experience every time. Highly recommend!

Absolutely AMAZING folks, service, and quality at The Grooming Den. I recently moved back from Atlanta to MA and have an angora kitty that will get matted if not shaved. The Grooming Den grooms cats, which is a rarity for most grooming businesses. Not only do they do a fantastic job on Kitty Chicken, but their pricing is very reasonable (much cheaper than a lion's cut in ATL) and they are fast. I highly recommend The Grooming Den!
