TLDR: is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? 1000 times over- I would consider moving states if it meant Deirdre and Johnathon would still do monthly trainings. Will this cure my dog of all problems? Definitely not, but they will do everything possible- including custom/tailored dog training and human training- to help you and your pup move forward. Are they actually wizards though? Absolutely. The long version: After unexpectedly losing my first sweet “pibble” of ten years in 2024, I quickly found myself ‘adopting’ a 6-month old amstaff/pitt from a family who was displaced from the hurricanes. When I first met her she was as sweet as could be, but once I brought her home I started noticing signs of anxiety combined with zero commands- like didn’t even know the name they called her by. We worked with an obedience trainer for a few sessions to get some basics down but shortly after that ended she was isolated for about 2 months due to a heat cycle and spay procedure. By 1 year old She was showing signs of people aggression towards both strangers and friends, and struggled immensely with wanting to play with dogs but not being able to tolerate their humans. For almost a year I trie

I’m SO pleased with my experience at The Dog Wizard! I have a very high energy golden retriever named Brodie who would drag me down the street on walks and jump on every guest who entered my front door. After just a few sessions with Amado, he’s a completely different dog! Amado was very patient, informative, and he provided me with many tools and resources to continue training after our sessions came to a close. I loved receiving pictures and videos from their daily outings as well- Michael’s, Home Depot & TJ Maxx. Highly recommend!

Just do it! Jeremy is our trainer here, and I originally had my puppy go through basic training, and decided to go back for e-collar training. My Penny girl is truly the happiest she has ever been since being trained. The trainers and the staff are so incredibly helpful and kind - they are the best of the best. The Saturday support classes are also SO fun and really help get our training down. + your dog will be so tired the rest of the day! 😂 I can’t express enough how dedicated everyone here is to our dogs. We board ours frequently and always have peace of mind knowing they are in such loving hands, and that we will get pics sent to us! All the trainers are so awesome, but I am biased to Jeremy because his work with Penny has been such a blessing!! We 🩷 the DW!!!

I cannot recommend Jeremy at Dog Wizard South Tampa highly enough. His expertise is evident in every session — he explains the “why” behind each technique, tailors the training to your dog’s specific needs, and ensures you feel confident continuing the work at home. Our dog’s obedience, confidence, and overall behavior have improved dramatically. Jeremy’s professionalism, communication, and commitment to long‑term success set him apart from any trainer we’ve worked with before. A true 5‑star experience from start to finish. Jeremy and Dog Wizard South Tampa are truly exceptional. The level of patience, clarity, and genuine care Jeremy and the staff at Dog Wizard has completely transformed our dog’s behavior. Jeremy didn’t just train our dog — he taught us how to communicate better, build confidence, and create structure that actually works. The progress we’ve seen is unbelievable. Our once‑anxious, reactive pup is now calm, focused, and so much happier. Jeremy is the real deal, and Dog Wizard South Tampa is lucky to have him. Highly recommend to anyone who wants lasting results and a trainer who truly cares.

For the past 2 weeks, my dog Louie was attending the training and boarding program at the Dog Wizard. Firstly, I’d like to give my deepest thanks to Amado for taking such good care of Louie! Second, Louie has definitely improved under Amado’s tutelage. The training consisted of sitting, going down, place, heeling all with distractions. Louie has gotten close to mastering these lessons and with Amado’s guidance, my wife and I will continue the lessons. The Dog Wizard is fantastic and I highly recommend its services, given my dog is a highly stubborn Frenchie. Amado, Erica and I are very thankful for your help and we look forward to continuing our training with you and the Dog Wizard! Best, Patrick & Erica
