Washington is in District of Columbia, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Washington peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then.
