We initially had a great experience here, and my kids were making visible progress. However, things quickly went downhill due to severe instructor inconsistency—we seemed to have a different teacher every single session, which caused both of my children to regress. My youngest developed a fear of water, and because the staff lacked the continuity and patience to help rebuild his confidence or re-engage his interest, we had to unenroll him. The final straw was how they treated my older son, who has autism and ADHD. He loves the pool and was doing fantastic work. During a session, he got water up his nose and yelled out of momentary distress. Instead of handling him like a child having a natural sensory reaction, the instructor took it personally. the manager walked over to me and flatly declared that "it won't work" and that he needed to be pulled from the pool. When I stepped in, my son was already completely calm. He was confused, hurt, and repeatedly asking to stay in the water because he was doing so well. The instructor was determined to kick him out anyway, showing zero grace, understanding, or basic child-handling skills. We haven't given up on our son's swimming journey,

This is a wonderful place for swim lessons. The staff are kind, welcoming, and very patient. They greet us by name every visit. There are many day/ time options to choose from for lessons. My daughter is 8 years old and we have tried swim lessons in the Germantown/Gaithersburg area before. This is the very best location. My daughter actually knows how to swim now and is moving from one level to the next. With past experiences she remained at the same level without much conversations about what she needs to work on. Not the case with SwimLabs. To improve, the facility could use a bigger changing area with more showers. Otherwise wouldn't change a thing.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience with SwimLabs! My niece absolutely loves this program and looks forward to every lesson. The instructors and staff are truly amazing patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in each child’s growth. You can tell they care deeply about not just teaching swimming skills, but building confidence and creating safe, capable swimmers who actually enjoy being in the water. The environment is welcoming, structured, and supportive, which makes a huge difference for both kids and families. It’s been so rewarding to watch my niece grow more comfortable and excited about swimming each week. I highly recommend SwimLabs to any family looking for a program that prioritizes safety, fun, and skill-building all in one!

My 5 year old has ADHD and autism, and learning to swim has been a journey. We started at SwimLabs this winter, and it has been such a wonderful experience. The swim school is very inclusive of children with special needs, and my son has been working with an AMAZING swim instructor, Ms. Kim, who has taught him how to do back floats and work on blowing bubbles in the water and correct form when kicking. Thanks so much to the fantastic team at SwimLabs for making such a welcoming environment for all kids!
