If I could give 0 stars I would. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed at how this emergency was handled by the staff at this shelter! I found an abandoned kitten no more than 8 days old. I was called outside of my residence to assess the situation. The kitten was lying in the middle of the street and was not moving at 6pm. I relocated the kitten to a safer location very close to where it was found. According to a few neighbors, this was the only kitten and they saw at that time. Apparently the mother dropped it while trying to relocate when cars entering and exiting the neighborhood spooked her. I placed fresh food and water in the location with the kitten and observed for 4 1/2 hours to see if the mom would come back. At this time it’s 10:30pm. I had someone run to Walmart to grab feeding supplies before they closed at 11pm. When they returned they let me know the food was gone but the kitten was still there. I assumed the mom nursed it and left to hunt. We left the kitten out there until 7am. I checked every 2-3hrs while feeding my own 4 month old. The kitten was still there with no mother. I decided to grab the kitten and do all of the steps recommended to care for ab

As a first time adopter, Southern Pines made this process much easier and less worrisome. I felt much better knowing my puppy’s shots were up to date and he was microchipped. The staff were friendly and made sure to tell me everything I needed to know. They also provided the medicine he was currently taking at no extra costs. One employee in particular, Scout, made me feel welcomed and answered all of my questions.

Been trying to find a new friend recently and I found out about this shelter while I was out of state. Scout (if I remember their name correctly) was really welcoming and introduced me to alot of lovely little furry faces. I throughly enjoyed my experience with yall and would definitely let Scout introduce me to more animals again in the future if it comes to it.

I got my $100 dog here and she has been the best dog I’ve ever had. The staff was so kind to all of their animals and so happy for every single one to have a new home. You could tell the animals loved them too! They set me up with everything I needed including a small bag of food, so I could leave with her vet records and the best friend I could ask for. I have such good things to say about this location. You can tell when people are in it for the right reasons. I’m so grateful for them. Betty the dog is now just about 2 years old and we got her at about 6 months old from Southern Pines. Still the best pup and has been all over the USA with us! You will find great friends here.
