Mixed feelings from me. I took in a stray cat and had been getting her care at a different vet, eventually we learned she was pregnant because I came home to two stillborn kittens in my closet. She wasn't passing the rest easily, so we needed to take her somewhere. I had heard bad things about SVH but it was kinda an emergency and all other places were closed. They were very kind to take us on last minute, and they were very nice to us. They took x-rays and recommended we gave her some meds to help things along so we could hold off from the extra pricey emergency spay. She passed them naturally, but they persuaded me to have her spayed anyway. Doc said she was young, healthy, and could handle it. When I picked her up she smelt bad. I could smell her through the carrier, but the employee who handed her off to me said she would be smelly for awhile. They called me in the morning to check, and I called again a few times because she had been vomiting and her nose looked pale. I was always told to wait it out, and call back again if I was concerned. She died two days after her surgery; like 2 hours after I called them for the last time. I don't think they mistreated my cat on purpose; a

My chiweenie tragically passed away suddenly 2 weeks ago at home on this day - the receptionist, Melissa, was one of the kindest people Iv'e ever dealt with at a vet or any medical facility. She was there for me on the phone as my dog was dying in my arms. Every time I have called she has been so kind and caring which I do not see anymore in the world. The compassion she shows is so genuine.. Sierra Nevada vet is fortunate to have her and the customers and their furbabies are BLESSED to have her. Thankyou Melissa, for being so helpful and caring during a very heartbreaking time. Google will only allow me one review, but I wanted to add Dr. Kidder is the BEST vet in the valley.

We've been taking our Dachshund, Zeus, to Sierra Veterinary Hospital for four years now and have been delighted over the great care our beloved boy has received. Taya does an amazing job on his nail trim and Dr. Lisa Lewis is fantastic. Melissa at the front desk is also so friendly and helpful! Zeus does surprisingly well at his appointments too! If he's we're happy!

Dr Kidder was excellent with our little Bunni and listened to our concerns All of the staff was very gentle with her. The lobby was comfortable and provided water, tea or coffee and provided space for us to socialize with the other pet owners and their pets
