About Shaggy Dog

Located at 2775 Dewey Ave, Rochester, NY 14616, Shaggy Dog operates as a pet groomer serving Rochester in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

The business lists hours on 4 days of the week. The most common schedule is 10 am–6:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Sunday. Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had to pull my car over and just start sobbing after seeing my dog it looks like a blind person cut him. His hair is choppy all over the place and it doesn't even look nor smell like he had a bath! and they had him since noon to 3:30 I have been going to this place for 5 years I've never cut his hair this short it should be in all his in his records. Even if it was short at least it would be all even I don't even know what I'm looking at I am so disappointed and hysterically crying over this.

TracyThe owner is the most compassionate.Dog loving person i've ever met when I told her the story about my rescue dog.She had tears in her eyes. And when I came back to pick him up, she was doing work at her desk with my dog, sitting on her lap.She is absolutely amazing.I a hundred percent recommend this groomer for anybody who cares about their dog. If I could give higher then, a five star review.I'd give him a ten star review absolutely amazing people

I decided to try Shaggy’s after canceling with another groomer because a friend recommended them. Their page shows many beautifully groomed poodles, and with 6 years of service I trusted that my dog would be in good hands. Unfortunately, the grooming Winter received was the opposite of what I expected. Not only did they cut off her top knot and crown which is very specific and important to a poodle’s groom but they also shaved her down so much that her skin was left raw in several places. Her fur was choppy, uneven, and looked rushed through rather than carefully styled. For a business that’s been operating this long, the work did not reflect the professionalism or skill that should come with that experience. I was truly disappointed because I wanted to make this our regular groomer, but after this experience, one star and not returning is all I can give. I’m not sure what went wrong with her cut, but this was unacceptable and did not reflect the care or quality that was advertised. And to add my dog is a sweet good dog, she doesn’t bark at all. She was wailing so loud when I walked in she was scared as hell when I picked her up. They said she was a “Crazy dog” she’s never been

Loved the ladies that were working there taking good care of my dog I just took into my home a few days prior. My dog is skittish a bit but they were so kind and loving towards her. My beautiful German Shepherd came back home smelling so good and so soft. They also gave her a Christmas bandana, so cute! 🤗 They informed me a little bit about German Shepherds and were just kind and caring when they spoke to me. Also was not pricy and who doesn't love a good bargain. Great people. Definitely recommend this place
