I used this vet a year ago and the only issue that came up was my animal wouldn’t take the medication that their vet had prescribed. I called twice regarding the struggle, and had attempted all of their suggestions to get him to take it, it tasted terrible and nothing was working. I asked for the same med my other animal had used since it hadn’t been so hard to give as the taste was not as strong/bitter. They were very argumentative and questioned me on why I thought I would have better luck with that med versus this med. I will absolutely acknowledge I was very frustrated with that phone conversation, but overall the visits there had been pleasant, so I thought... Fast forward to now, I called about my son’s lethargic animal that I had found a hard warm lump on his abdomen and wanted to get him assessed. I filled out the online questionnaire and within the hour we were heading in. When we were almost there I received a call letting me know that they would not be helping me and I was not allowed at their clinic. I was really confused and asked why and was told that it was due to several notes in my account from a staff member regarding my poor behavior to them and their doctors. St

We brought our Frankie Boy to Salem vet after a tragic event on Fourth of July weekend. The staff were very efficient and kept us informed during the whole process. In the middle of the night when we came to say goodbye with our two year-old asleep in the car, one of them offered to sit in the car with him so that myself, my husband, and our oldest daughter could say goodbye to Frankie as a family. The staff made me feel like not only were we losing Frankie, but they were losing him too. I am forever grateful for their kindness and care during one of the worst nights of our life. We miss our Frankie everyday.

Many thanks to the staff at Salem Veterinary Emergency Clinic for the excellent care our dog received on a Sunday morning. (Yes, we waited a bit to be seen, but you must remember this is a pet ER just like a human ER: a more serious emergency may take precedence over your pet! Be patient.) Everyone was professional and kind, and kept us regularly updated as they diagnosed and dealt with our dog’s unexpected medical condition. We are so very grateful our dog was effectively treated and is on the mend!

If I could give more stars I could. We took our cat, Turd, there after she had issues following a vet appointment elsewhere. She hadn't eaten or drank for over 2 days and had a really bad fever. We have been struggling with her for months, having chronic bowl and constipation issues. Every vet we had taken her to before regarding this always turned into "try this expensive food" or some other name brand product they sponsored. Salem Vet were the first to actually take us serious. I want to specifically shout out Tina (I believe that was her name). She was an absolute angel, and actually tried to help rather then figure out what the next designer food we should try would be. She helped so much, we got blood work and imaging done in 30 minutes, something we've been trying to get elsewhere for months. She gave us amazing advice and truly cared. For my cats sake I hope she never has to see her again, but if I could make that Vet Tech our full time Vet I would. I cannot express enough just how amazing she was.

Can’t thank this place enough for helping out when my baby dog got into my birthday present that had a huge amount a dark chocolate candy in it. The clinic appeared very busy with techs running in and out to bring in pets that needed urgent help. My baby was brought right so they could get him to vomit. While I waited I saw the techs appear to be so kind and gentle towards every pet they interacted with. I would highly recommend them if you have an emergency!
