We have been seeing Dr. Joe since they opened their first location in Minooka. We moved to TX, but made a vet visit recently with our dog while visiting family here. They got us in quickly & everyone was friendly. Shorewood is lucky to have the Rusty Ridge team!

I am the real owner of Frank. It has come to my attention that someone is posting my dog's information and gave a bad review to Dr. Joe and his staff. This is NOT true! In fact, I appreicated all they did for my sweet boy. We went to see Dr. Chow when our vet told us they were not comfortable doing surgery with how extensive the mass was on Frank's hip. Dr. Chow was great with Frank and spoke to my husband and I like we mattered and that Frank's life and quality of life mattered. All of the staff were wonderful with him and me through the two week long ordeal. They allowed me to be with him for as long as I wanted before and after his passing. Makayla gave me multiple hugs during a very difficult day that I really did not expect. I have referred many people to Rusty Ridge and even told my husband we should transfer our other dog's care to Rusty Ridge. I have two friends who have already contacted the practice with one of them already receiving care from Rusty Ridge. I wish Frank's outcome was different. Dr. Joe is the one who diagnosed his cancer when our previous vet missed it, but unfortuantely, it was too far advanced by the time we switched to Rusty Ridge. I have nothing b

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – Highly Recommend! Last week I brought both of my dogs to Rusty Ridge Animal Center for shots and to have my Boerboel’s ears checked out. At our previous vet, my dogs were uneasy (my big guy even had to be muzzled), and we were simply given pills with a “this ought to do” explanation. From the second we walked into Rusty Ridge, the experience was completely different. The staff was incredibly welcoming and patient. My dogs were calm and content the entire visit — they allowed their shots without any issues, and my big guy didn’t even need a muzzle! That alone spoke volumes to me about the care and environment they provide. This week I brought my big guy back for a bath, and once again, everything was great. The team is amazing, very thorough, and you can tell they truly care about the animals. To top it off, they send estimates beforehand so you know what to expect cost-wise (as long as nothing additional comes up), which I really appreciate. Transparency makes such a difference. We are so happy we switched — highly recommend Rusty Ridge Animal Center! 🐾

I cannot say enough good things about Rusty Ridge Animal Center. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with genuine care, kindness, and respect—not just as a pet owner, but as a person. The entire staff is beyond friendly and truly ethical in everything they do. Dr. Joe goes above and beyond in every sense of the word. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered every question with patience, and made sure both my dog and I felt comfortable and supported. You can tell he truly cares about the well-being of animals and the people who love them. It’s rare to find a veterinary clinic that combines this level of compassion, professionalism, and integrity. I am incredibly grateful for the care my dog received, and I will forever be taking my pets to Rusty Ridge. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks for all that you guys do!

New edit!!! (I am not removing the original because it is all true) if you write a bad review, or maybe even if you don’t, they will loose your pets records. Obviously I don’t take my pets there anymore, but they “can’t find the record of them giving my other dog his rabies shot. So glad my wife keeps good records or I wouldn’t be able to get him groomed!! Point is, either they are petty and incompetent, or they’re just incompetent. If you love your pets (or money) don’t take them there!! ORIGINAL POST- I took my best friend (Old English Sheepdog) to Rusty Ridge Animal center for a sedated groom. He is 8 years old and terrified of scissors or clippers near his face. I asked that when he was sedated to do the face first (before he gets really agitated). They did not listen. AT ALL. it started when the tech literally DRAGGED him to the back. They then shaved his body first, which he does not need sedation for. After that they started plucking his ears. He has been a problem for groomers before, but never while sedated. Anyways, they could not do his face because he was too aggravated by then. At the end of the day, they charged me for over $700 for the session!!! That did include som
