We have been bringing our dogs for years but won't be returning. One of our dogs was given a strike on a visit about a month before we had a scheduled stay where my husband and I would be out of the country. We told the staff we would cancel our upcoming visit and find alternative care for our dogs because of that issue. The staff highly encouraged us to keep our reservation, assured us they felt confident working with our dog, and promised she would not be turned away mid trip if there were any issues while we were away. When we showed up to drop off our dogs the day we flew, the owner told us that he didn't know we were coming, and if he did, he would not have approved our visit. They would not be allowing our dog to stay. What do you mean you didn't know we were coming? You invoiced us, and we paid for this stay two weeks ago? Your staff emailed us the day before the stay asking for updated vaccination records for this dog and said "see you tomorrow." He eventually agreed to let her stay but made it clear he had no interest in working with our dog. My husband and I felt too vulnerable being out of the country believing our dog would most likely be asked to leave mid trip by this

I can't say enough good things about this place. Gunner absolutely loves coming here, the change in him was immediate as he's a calmer and more social puppy. The care and attention the staff gives is immediately apparent. Also you will you are dealing with a daycare that loves what they do and deeply cares.

I’m incredibly grateful to have found RiverDog. From the very first phone call with the Peabody staff, it was obvious this place operates on a level of care, professionalism, and genuine love for dogs that goes far beyond anything I’ve experienced before. My German Shepherd, Wesley, is four years old and has enough energy to power a small village. He started daycare at four months old because there was simply no way I could wear him out on my own. His previous daycare even trained him to run on a treadmill — that’s how intense he is. But despite all of that, they never managed to truly exhaust him, and the experience there became increasingly unpleasant for both of us. RiverDog changed everything. Not only is Wesley excited to go, he comes home happy, calm, and so tired that he melts into the couch and sleeps through the night. His obedience has improved, too — every command, every bit of training just clicks better because he’s mentally and physically fulfilled. And the fact that they don’t crate the dogs is a huge bonus. The best. Great for daycare and cage free boarding. Our golden isn't a "regular" and they always still remember her and light up when I drop her off, moreso than any other place we took her in the past. Very organized for boarding.

RiverDog Peabody is the best. My dog Tu has been coming here off an on for 5+ years. First at the Malden location now at the Peabody location. He loves them. They are very communicative, rigorous with standards, knowledgeable about dog handling and care, and generally fun. Tu has a blast every time I drop him off and I couldn't recommend RiverDog more.
