If I could leave more than 5 stars I certainly would. Customer service, from the first phone call to picking up my dog after her (kind of emergency) session was absolutely excellent.my dog looks and feels wonderful. I’ll never use another grooming service!

Normally, I don’t write reviews, but I really felt the need to share this because it’s something people forget when they’re scrolling through ratings. Riverdale Grooming has been open for almost 20 years. Two decades of experience, growth, trial and error, and constant improvement. That already says more than any single review ever could. Think about what that means: they’ve gone through the 2008 recession, COVID, staffing changes, management changes, and even location changes. In that time, they’ve had to adapt to new grooming standards, new equipment, new safety protocols, and everything that comes with running a small business in New York. A place doesn’t stay open for nearly 20 years by accident — and they definitely don’t stay the same. They evolve. They learn. They get better. A lot of newer groomers might have a perfect 5-star rating, but they’ve only been around for a year or two. It’s easy to look flawless when you’re brand new. But a business that’s been around for almost two decades is naturally going to have some older reviews from years ago when things were totally different — different team, different management, different systems. So when I see a review from 2017, 20

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I’ve had enough of the nonsense I’m seeing here. I’ve been going to Riverdale Grooming for YEARS—not months, not a couple visits, I mean years—and I have NEVER had a single bad experience. Not once. The staff? Absolutely SWEETHEARTS. Miguel, Johana, the reception staff, and every single person I’ve encountered have been nothing but kind, patient, and genuinely caring—not just about the animals, but about the people too. So when I scroll through and see people trashing this place like it’s some corporate villain… like no. Let’s be honest. Half these reviews sound like people walked in with a bad attitude and wanted someone to read their minds and offer free services for breathing. This is a small, local business—not Petco, not some nameless big-box store. You want a generic, soulless, possibly miserable experience? Go to Petco. This isn’t that. This is a shop built on actual love for animals and hard work. These people are showing up day after day, grooming through chaos, probably getting scratched and barked at, and STILL manage to smile and give your pet a cute little bow and a spritz of cologne. That’s care. That’s effort. That’s consistency.

We brought our long haired cat here and they did an amazing job! It took a shorter time than expected (1.5 hours) and they texted when she was ready for pickup! When we got her home she was so soft and clean! Definitely coming here again, plus they have a great selection of pet food, treats, leashes, collars, etc.
