Realizing we had a dog reactive dog it was important for us to invest in private training lessons. Max came to our house with fellow trainer Ashley. They brought Max’s dogs to help us learn how to decrease our dog’s reactions to other dogs in his neighborhood. As a result of our lessons we are able to walk our boy in our neighborhood and at area parks. We still have a reactive dog but we know how to mange his behavior. Max brought his wealth of knowledge, experience, clear explanations, and great sense of humor to our training sessions. We recommend him to everyone interested in developing a better relationship with their dogs.

Upon recommendation from two veterinarians, my husband and I went with Ready Set Train for some behavioral training for our 3 year old puppy mill corgi. After a thorough conversation/consultation with Max we decided private training was our best bet. It was an absolute game changer for our girl, she quickly responded to the training and has become more confident in the weeks since training. I 100% recommend!

This review is from Scott and Julie White for Scooby. We received 3 private lessons from Max. We are also planning on doing a group class too. We just adopted a 2 yr old dog that had no training. We really had no idea where to start. He was wonderful in helping to reassure and help us. He is very knowledgeable and taught us so much. We are very pleased and recommend him highly.

We found Ready Set Train through Tina at Canine Karma,( We love her too!) and working with Max has been such a great experience. We started over the summer with private sessions for Zekes separation anxiety , and leash reactivity, as well as my pup Taz, as they feed off each other’s emotions. We’ve also done group classes for each pup, and everyone has been so caring, patient, and communicative both in and outside of class. Max is always happy to answer my questions and is very informative when it comes to me understanding my dogs’ behavior and next steps for training. We are excited to do more classes, as we have seen real progress and couldn’t be happier!!! :) highly recommend Ready Set Train!

Max is the only trainer I trust in the Toledo area with my own clients. I have referred clients to him for the last couple of years knowing that they are in capable hands. He specializes in working with aggressive dogs, resource guarding and dog to dog integration (among other things). Many clients benefit from a trainer who makes house calls to work with the problem behavior where it happens. I know Max will only use positive, science based training methods that will not harm or hurt your dog. We are excited to continue our collaboration with Ready Set Train and expand the positive training community in our area! Also, I personally enjoy taking classes from Max and my dog Shilo is IN LOVE with him!
