In Winston-Salem, price depends on breed, size, coat condition and temperament: small short-coated dogs cost least, while doodles, poodles and double-coated breeds take longer and cost more, and matting adds a dematting fee. Ask whether the groomer is certified, how dogs are dried (cage dryers versus hand drying), whether rabies vaccination proof is required in North Carolina, and how long your pet will stay. Most dogs need a groom every four to eight weeks. Saturdays and the weeks before holidays book up first, so schedule ahead and check the listing for hours, phone number and Google rating.

Winston-Salem is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Winston-Salem is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We boarded one of our cats here and they treated her like royalty. She got cute nicknames, her own personal cat-tv and all of the staff truly seemed to love her and take care of her well. She came back even more well-mannered than we brought her in as, and they even managed to trim her nails which Vets have not been able to manage. Speaks volumes about their ability and care they show all clients. The report cards they give are a nice touch, keeping us in the loop with how our kitty was doing and giving us peace of mind. Very happy with our choice to send her there!

PurrLife is the BEST place to take your kitties. I will never take my girls anywhere else and trust Michelle more than anyone to take care of and love my babies the way I would. Every facet of her facility is thought through with love and intention. From the cat TVs in each vertical kennel, to the horizontal kennels for elderly kitties to the private suites for a luxurious stay. I take Luna for grooming a few times a year and she has never shown signs of stress when coming home. Even my Ms Kitty who is notorious for being a complainer has never given her any trouble (as far as I know ;P). She has a great group of cat whisperers here! Please give her facility a try. The fact that at the time of me posting this she has ALL 5 STARS speaks VOLUMES! Support local businesses.

Fantastic experience! I brought in my newly adopted 9 month old Persian kitty for a few individual services he needs as he transitions to a new litterbox. He left looking and smelling like a little superstar. The receptionist, Ellie, was delightful to talk to -- that's a huge plus in any pet care business. One of the owners, Michelle, groomed and pampered Houdini. It was obvious she has lots of experience in vet and pet care/grooming settings. The environment was impressive in every way -- beautiful, clean, and very inviting. They take a lot of pride in providing cat-specific care and made it well worth my drive to take care of my cat's needs. It's refreshing to visit a small business that goes above and beyond to make clients (humans and kitties) feel appreciated and comfortable. I took a moment before leaving to tour the boarding area and was very impressed. So much thought and attention to detail at every turn. Highly recommend.

I brought my mother's 16-year-old cat, Big Maybelle (a Himalayan Siamese), to be groomed at the Winston-Salem location, and it was a fantastic experience! Maybelle has been blacklisted by several groomers in different states because she doesn’t handle grooming well unless heavily sedated. Even then, she still fights with the strength of ten drunken men. However, she can no longer manage her long fur, which is very heavy on her arthritic joints, so she needs a quality-of-life shave every four to five months, along with her claws trimmed (which she sharpens with a wet stone). We were recommended to Purr Life Cat Resort by our dog groomer. Booking was easy, and after discussing what was needed (a lion cut with a rounded head), I stressed that if she became too worked up (started holding the groomer hostage), they should skip the bath and just focus on the shave. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked Maybelle up—cleaned up, shaved, and everyone calling her a sweetheart! I briefly wondered if they had handed me the wrong cat, but of course, it was Maybelle in the carrier. They did an amazing job, and now she can once again terrorize her dog siblings.
