On our first visit, the front desk ladies had some attitude issues, but I was able to surpass it because the nurse was being polite. Then they had me and my puppy waiting in the room for 30 minutes or so despite the original appointment time. When the doctor finally came to see us, her demeanor was a bit strange. She kept speaking very quietly. When I would ask her questions, she would answer them with doctoral terms. When I asked her to explain it easier for me to understand, she then proceeded to speak "slowly" instead as if I spoke no English at all. I also noticed that the inspection room was not the cleanest (old, unwashed towels & blankets). When I came back for my puppy's next vaccine appointment, one of the front desk lady was very rude as we were trying to check in. She asked for the name, and when I told her, in less than 30 seconds of checking she goes, "we don't have that name." As I repeated the name, another customer was walking in, and she goes "you could take a seat." I stood there thinking she was asking the other customer to take a seat and was waiting for her to tell me I'm checked in. I made an appointment here because of the good reviews, but I sure didn’t have that experience. From the moment I walked in, it smelled and the floors were very dirty. Despite arriving on time for our appointment, the wait was lengthy and we were the only ones in the waiting room?? We were then brought into an exam room and continued to wait. (30 minutes) While waiting, I noticed the room was old, stale, and the mat on top of the metal table was dirty and very worn. The door slowly opened and there stood the Dr, Dr. Alexander who appeared to be afraid??of what, I don’t know. She slowly walked in and approached cautiously as my dog was laying on his side waiting for a belly rub. Call me crazy, but shouldn’t a veterinarian be familiar with dogs?? She asked why we were there and I reiterated what I had already wrote when filling out the forms. She spoke in a whisper, which I thought was odd, and hesitantly listened to my dogs heart. After a five minute summation of my dogs condition, we were given a prescription for medication that would not treat his infection?? Dr. Child is an incredibly knowledgeable practitioner and an excellent surgeon. My dog healed up quickly and there were no complications! Super affordable, too. Lovely staff, clean clinic, what more could you want? Highly recommend and will go back for my dog’s future dental care needs.

I just love Plaza Del Amo Hospital. My fur baby has been a patient here since he was 3 months and now he is going on 6 years. Everyone is so welcoming and concerns with the needs of my fur baby. They just love him so much. Thank you so much for you love and care. I would travel from the moon and back just to get him to Plaza Del Amo Hospital!!

I cannot say enough good things about this hospital and the staff! I have been using Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital for a little over 6 years now and I have yet to find somewhere that provides an equivalent level of care. When I moved out of the South Bay, I tried multiple different hospitals near me and none of them measured up to plaza! I drive two hours one way to ensure that my dog’s get taken care of. My family now also makes the trek to Plaza! Dr. Child is a very talented veterinarian, who really knows her stuff! I have 5 dogs (all different breeds, ages and temperaments) and she is wonderful with every single one. I’m very picky when it comes to choosing a veterinarian for my dogs. I care a lot about the quality of medicine that is being practiced and I never doubt Dr. Child’s decisions. She is kind, knowledgeable and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a quality vet. As for the rest of the staff, I love them! Erika at the front desk is always so helpful when it comes to any Paw Plan or appointment questions. The technicians are friendly and do a great job keeping their poise in a very busy hospital! I usually see Vanessa and she is great.
