We got our pet Max at Petland Overland Park about 8 months ago. We had a great experience. The management and workers show genuine care for the pets and are quick to answer any questions about the breed as well as the personality of the specific animal. We found their assessment Max to be very accurate. They have extensive knowledge and recommendations on the various food, treats, toys and everything in between. We have stopped in to restock and the experience has been consistent. We have taken Max back a few times. We were not sure how he would respond. It only took a few minutes for him to recognize the store and the individuals he interacted with. He was so happy to visit his friends. I think that says it all. He was loved and well taken care of care of there, just like he is in our home. To the Petland team, thank you for the healthy start and caring for Max before we found him!

Walking in it feels less like visiting a pet store and more like getting trapped in a timeshare presentation hosted by cartoon villains. The business model seems to be: “Don’t tell them the price. Let them cuddle the puppy first.” After you’ve already imagined family Christmas photos and picked out a name, they finally reveal the price…which can be well north of $7,000. By then you’ve spent an hour listening to a sales pitch worthy of a used car dealership. Imagine if Darth Vader, a payday lender, and a mattress salesman opened a puppy store together. That’s the vibe. If you’re proud of your prices, post them. Hiding them until customers are emotionally invested feels manipulative and predatory. People shopping for a family pet deserve transparency, not psychological warfare. The puppies are adorable, but that’s exactly what they’re counting on. Save yourself the frustration and support a reputable breeder or local shelter that believes honesty should come before high-pressure sales tactics. One star, only because zero wasn’t an option.

I bought my cat from here and they messed up ALL of the paperwork (gave us an entirely different cats paperwork) and recently I saw another cat my family really wanted, but someone else has already bought it BUT they haven’t came and picked it up for 4 weeks now because they’re “out of the country” it’s disgusting that this place will even sell a cat to someone who obviously doesn’t care about it. This cat is by himself in a cage waiting for his supposed “loving” owner to come pick him up. I asked how long they would need the owner to come pick him up for him to be on sale again he said “a month or a little longer” these people do not care about any of their animals all they care about is the money, that’s why they sell dogs/cats from 3k to 8k.

So fun! All the dogs are so cute and super fun. I would recommend getting a puppy here. The service is very great! The workers were very kind and patient. Especially Zach who helped us the whole time we were here!

So so fun! All the dogs are so cute and super fun! They love to play! I would definitely recommend getting a puppy from here! The service is great and they get you the dog you want to pet super fast! The workers are very nice and friendly. I had a lot of fun!!!!! Zach was a big help.
