──────── I had a very disappointing experience with the grooming salon at the Port Hueneme Petco. My dogs appointment was at 12:00 p.m. I even called around 3:30 p.m. to check on him, but no one mentioned there was a problem or that they were running significantly behind. I wasn’t contacted until 5:15 p.m., when I was told that my dog had only received a bath because he wasn’t allowing the groom to be completed. When I arrived around 6:00 p.m., Charlie was still wet. My biggest disappointment wasn’t that the groom couldn’t be finished, it was the lack of communication. If the salon was short-staffed and there was only one groomer available, I completely understand that things happen. However, I would have appreciated a phone call much earlier in the day letting me know they wouldn’t have enough time to complete the appointment. That would have allowed me to pick up my dog and reschedule instead of waiting all day. The groomer, Zarae, has actually groomed my other dogs in the past with great results, so I know she is capable of doing good work. However, in this situation, it felt like there was poor time management, on her part and I believe that contributed to the appointm

I went today to get my dog a haircut and i got the one with a bath I needed more the haircut than the bath, Poor groomer it seems like she was the only one working, took them 6 hours for it to just call me saying they couldn’t cut the hair bc supposedly my dog was biting, something that with the other girl that used to work there never happened. Rachel she was really good. And mind you I was there in the store waiting bc the process usually takes only 2 hours, idk why they take so many appointments when there is not enough people there working. The only thing she said was maybe just come by another day that we are not that busy. I get it they are busy but they just wasted 6 hours of my day. I usually don’t do reviews but that was so disappointing, waiting 6 hours and they barely bathed my dog and doesn’t even look like it or smell like they did. went there at 10 am and the guy that was there told me bc i was walking around at 3pm that he just bathed him and he was was waiting for the haircut bc the girl was the only one who could do it. I was very pleased with this store but now i’m disappointed

My dog had an appointment on 7/5 in which she was supposed to be shaved. When she was picked up she wasn’t shaved at all. This service cost us $128.51. We called and spoke to grooming on 7/6 and they gave us an appointment on 7/7 at 10:00am. Took her in to have her shaved to a 7 and called just now at 230pm and she had not been completed, nor the shave even started. The excuse was that the groomer said she was new, she had taken “walk ins” and that somebody called in sick. Spoke to the manager and she wasn’t any better said the service was “complementary” but she wasn’t giving me a refund and I had already paid. Will never go back again.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. When I asked for help, the staff seemed annoyed and bothered by the request. Eventually, they said someone would assist me, but after waiting over 7 minutes with no help, I decided to leave. The store itself could also use improvement — the smell and overall organization inside were unpleasant and gave a poor impression. Staff training and better attention to the customer experience would go a long way in improving the overall atmosphere and service.

First time here but put in an appt for a vetco appt, got here early, and still waiting an hr to get my dog’s shots. Apparently the customer in front of me was getting her pets shots only to get bit by her pet-at least this is what the employees are telling us. Well when that happens they have to put the entire clinic on hold. Multiple customers and distressed dogs are now just waiting because petco doesn’t seem to understand how to implement this protocol. We are just told the clinic is on hold. We have seen the owner and their pet walking by us multiple times now since the incident-doesn’t seem like she’s injured. We have no eta, there doesn’t seem to be a second vet to do vaccines for all the waiting customers and our dogs are getting more distressed with the wait. I get things happen and there are protocols but at some point service becomes an issue. If we need to reschedule then tell us that. If you’re not sure what to do then tell us that. It’s going on an hr now, no need to bring up our work schedules etc. Feels like the common sense isn’t so common in many of these stores anymore.
