Went to the Petco in Surfside, SC....to look around for reptile Items and was very appalled at what we witnessed... Them having two chameleons in the same tank. You cannot put two Chameleons in the same tank!! One of the Chameleons definitely needs to see a vet... Because his right eye , which would be you're left.. while looking at them ... his eye was sunk in and he could not open it! Therefore , making it hard for him to find food or navigate his terrarium. Then on the way out, I was looking at thier Betta fish and I counted at least 7 to 9 dead...and many others very sickly. Also the mice and rat cages very filthy as well as the bird cages...and 2 white rats with very thin hair on thier backs!! About the Cleanest part of the store was the restrooms. But, Sadly the Animals and fish are not getting the best treatment or care!! Will never buy anything from this store!! If I could give them the zero stars , I would!

I am absolutely infuriated with this store. I called on Saturday afternoon and asked if they accepted walk ins and I was told yes, however, there maybe a 20 to 30 minute wait. OK great, or so I thought. I go in on Sunday morning when they open and I'm told they dont accept walk ins at all. So once again I was denied services for my dog. Back a few months ago while visiting from out of town, as we are not local residents of this community, I was also denied services because I did not have his proof of shots with me at the time. Now I can totally understand that denial as that is a requirement and I did not call ahead for requirements. But, this time going back on what was said really irritates me. I am sure that the local community is what keeps your business going but its the tourist and out of town guests they keep the city you are in thriving. I have left petco this morning once again after being denied a simple bath, my GSP does not need a haircut just a simple bath from being on the beach. I WILL NEVER WALK INTO THIS STORE EVER AGAIN. So if I need some pet supplies dont worry there's Marshall's, petsmart, Walmart and target. Thanks petco for turning away my sweet dog once aga

All4Paws has a puppy showing every Saturday and we got our new family member there. Then got all the essentials in petco. It was one stop shopping for a new baby girl.

I went in today after visiting another pet store where I didn’t get much help, and I’m so glad I did. The manager working tonight (I wish I could remember her name) was amazing she helped me find everything I needed, including a blackout kennel cover, and amazing advice. It made such a difference my pup didn’t try to escape or panic at all, he just laid down and took a nap. Thank ya’ll so much!

I brought my pitbull Romeo in for a nail trim today and my dog was rather nervous. The Petco employee went completely above and beyond hugging my dog as he trimmed his nails. I feel that this employee deserves some recognition for the love that he gives animals. More stores should have employees like him. I did not get his name, but please pass along my thanks. I think this picture speaks more than words. Just look at the smile on Romeo
