About Petcetera
Petcetera is a pet groomer in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is listed at 3205 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115, which places it among the local businesses of New Orleans that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

New Orleans is in Louisiana, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around New Orleans is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Louisiana's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This business must never read their reviews or they would've fired that old grumpy guy who always complains. He looks like he barely cares about his life in general, so not sure how you expect customers to have a good experience. Please go to Southern Paws, way better staff and much better selection.

I have never met a more grumpy unfriendly shopkeeper in New Orleans. He complained about 'doing everything for the owners and working 7 days a week'. Had a stack of collars and leashes in my hand but the guy was so dismissive and arrogant I left them on the counter and walked out. It's such a shame because it's a beautiful little shop. But why would I want to bring that energy home to my beautiful little fur baby? Owners need to reevaluate their one staff. The place was empty for a reason.

I would give zero stars if I could. My dog went in to get groomed and when I went to pick her up, the groomer had mentioned that he 'may have gotten soap in her eyes.' My dogs eyes are extremely red and she is severely uncomfortable. Thankfully, she was able to see the vet today where we have found that she has ulcers in both eyes! Wish the groomer would have just said 'yes I got soap in her eyes' instead of the 'I don't know.' I will say he did feel bad and wanted to check up on her, but now my sweet dog is in pain. Another groomer bites the dust!

I had one of the most shockingly rude retail experiences of my life this afternoon at Petcetera on Magazine Street. I walked in simply looking to buy some treats for my cats. As soon as I entered, I politely asked the cashier if he could point me toward the cat items. Anyone who owns cats knows that many “gourmet” pet boutiques heavily cater to dogs and often carry very limited options for cats, so I wanted to save time. Instead of offering assistance, he rudely gestured around the store and told me that “stuff is all over” and that I would just have to look. He then claimed that dog toys, collars, and treats were also meant for cats — which is simply not accurate. Cat owners know there are important differences in sizing, safety, and dietary needs. His dismissive attitude was condescending and completely unhelpful. After wandering around, I found a measly selection: a few treats and one can of cat food. The limited inventory alone was disappointing, but the service was far worse. When I brought my items to the counter, I stood there for nearly five minutes waiting to be checked out. The cashier was not helping another customer — he was sitting at the computer, playing around a

I felt compelled to share my outstanding grooming experience with my Golden Doodle. At 17 months old, my standard-sized dog has had various grooming sessions, but this one was truly exceptional. During our visits to New Orleans, we had the pleasure of working with Jermaine, who demonstrated remarkable skill and professionalism. The haircut was beautifully executed, and I was particularly impressed by how relaxed my dog appeared after the process. Additionally, the pricing was very reasonable for the high quality of service provided. I wholeheartedly recommend Jermaine and look forward to returning for future grooming sessions. -
