About Paws For Applause

Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.

Hours are published for 4 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (781) 233-9299. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is pawsforapplause.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 52 reviews, which is a strong result for a pet groomer in Saugus and suggests consistent service.

Saugus is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Saugus follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had the best experience with Paula. I made an inquiry in Nextdoor looking for someone to trim my granddaughters guinea pigs nails.Paula offered to trim them free for first visit. She was so knowledgeable and had her own experiences with guinea pigs. She took the time to explain what she was doing and offered several suggestions to us being first time owners. She had a full house that day too with several pets. I will definitely be back.

My experience for my dogs and I was traumatic and horrifying. I have a 11 year old yorkie with extreme anxiety, and he cannot be put into a crate. If so, his high anxiety and stress could lead to him having a seizure. This information was passed onto to Paula, the owner. When picking him up, my dog was in the back room with no lights on and in a crates. He was locked in a crate for an extended amount of time, and when I saw him he was covered in foam and soaked all over his face, feet, back, and bottom. When I picked up my dog he was shaking, heavily breathing, and drool dripping out of his mouth. As she opened the door to go back into the room of the desk, a dog snuck passed her, trying to leave the back room. Her first reaction was to slam the door on the dog and kicked it into the room. I wish I was exaggerating when saying all this, but more and more kept happening. When asking if he was in a crate, Paula raised her voice at me and said nothing was wrong with him. After telling her to look at him and questioned what was done to him, she continued to raise her voice and yell. Her reaction was was due to the disappointment and sadness in my face. Also, after asking why she didn’t
