Pet groomers bathe, brush, trim and style dogs and cats, and most also clip nails, clean ears and express anal glands. A full groom usually includes a bath, blow-dry, haircut and tidy-up; a bath-and-brush package skips the haircut and suits short-coated breeds. Salon groomers work from a shop with tubs and drying stations, mobile groomers bring a fitted van to your driveway, which is easier on anxious, elderly or reactive pets, and self-service dog washes rent a raised tub, shampoo and dryer by the session. Cat groomers handle lion cuts and matted coats with calmer, quieter setups, and many salons offer add-ons such as teeth brushing, de-shedding treatments, blueberry facials and paw balm.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 8 am–3 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Newtown is in Connecticut, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Newtown follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I have brought my very longhair matted elderly cat ‘Percy’ to Barbara twice now and will NEVER let anyone us groom him again!!She is the best at what she does and Percy is very relaxed at her spa He was making biscuits on the floor before groom and was purring when we picked him up!. I highly recommend Outcats to anyone who needs their cat groomed. I also made an appointment in the near future for him to have another bath and just to keep his coat healthy. You can trust her with all your cat’s fur needs and you both will be very happy.

We had our long haired cat groomed at Outcats and it was our best grooming experience we’ve had. Scheduling was easy and the location was super cute, clean and cozy. We have a long hair mix kitty who gets greasy and matted easily. She got a lion cut this time and looks great! Our cat is usually grumpy and antisocial after being groomed, but she was in a great mood and so cuddly when we got her home. We’ll definitely be back! They shared this photo of her via text when she was done, she looks great!

Barbara was an absolute pleasure! She is so kind and knowledgeable, I could tell right away she has a special gift with cats. I was blown away after seeing my cat Pip, he looks so handsome! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced cat groomer, she is amazing!

So you’re going to give my cat a bath? Reeses will be 16 years old next month and has never had a bath. Barbara gave my cat Reeses a bath, groomed her from head to tail which included shaving off some of her mats without any issues. I was shocked. When Barbara was done grooming Reeses, she was so calm and happy and she felt and looked silky smooth and I was able to pet her back without her making any negative sounds towards me. Reeses always cry’s, vomits and pants during all car rides, but was quiet and calm for the 30 minute car ride back home from her grooming session. When we got home she walked out of her carrier and played with the cat nip that Barbara gave her in her to go goody bag. I can’t say enough about my cat Reeses positive grooming experience with Barbara. I am so grateful that I found her and she was able to make my super senior cat comfort again. I would rate OutCats Grooming at 100 stars if I could.

I'm so happy with the service at this grooming salon! My cat came out looking like a brand new cat — his white fluffy hair looks absolutely gorgeous after the grooming. The salon itself is clean and beautiful, which makes the whole experience even better. A big thank you to Barbara for her kindness and gentle approach; she clearly cares about the animals and makes the whole process stress-free. Highly recommended!
