We've had such an amazing experience with Orion Dog Training! Simba recently cleared his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test, completed the doggie etiquette class and is so good with his 'Place' command. The trainer Dieuwke is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and genuinely passionate about helping dogs succeed while building confidence in both dogs and handlers. Every class is structured, encouraging and so much fun. What we appreciate most is how positive and supportive the environment is. We are still experiencing the enthusiasm and drive with Beginner Agility, Beginner Nosework and Lost Items Recovery NASDA classes and keep looking forward to learning every week. Highly recommend Orion Dog Training to anyone looking for quality training, enrichment and a supportive learning environment for their pup!

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Orion Dog Training. Our Dalmatian puppy, Saggio, started with Puppy Pre-K and puppy socials, and he is now enrolled in AKC STAR Puppy 1. The classes have been incredibly helpful for both Saggio and us as new puppy parents. Dieuke (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly!) is knowledgeable, patient, and very supportive. She creates a positive environment where puppies can learn while also having fun and building confidence. The socials were great for safe puppy interaction, and the structured classes helped us understand how to train and communicate with our puppy effectively.

We took our now 7.5 month old puppy Maisie to both the Puppy Socials and Puppy 1 class at Orion Dog Training and have nothing but good things to say. Dieuwke is incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much! The Puppy Socials are so valuable and are a wonderful way to socialize your pup in a structured, safe environment. Dieuwke was always so attentive and accommodating for the various needs of puppies, and had great tips and advice. We learned lots during our Puppy 1 class as well, and we hope to take Maisie to more of the many classes that are offered. We had such a great experience at Orion and hope the community continues to support this small business!

Orion Dog Training has been an enriching and transformative part of Marshy’s life. Marshy is our lively 14 month old deaf husky/cattle dog my wife and I adopted 9 months ago. From Nose Work to Agility to Control Unleashed, every class has brought something new, fun, and confidence-building. We’re currently in multiple classes and already signed up for Tricks in January. Whether it’s weekly training or festive events like the Halloween social, Orion Dog Training continues to be a place where Marshy thrives. What makes this space special is Dieuwke van der Velde herself. She leads with softness, kindness, and deep empathy, and it’s easy to see the pure delights dogs bring her. Dieuwke is always rooting for the dogs and she meets each one with genuine curiosity and care, connecting with their individual strengths and helping them grow in ways that are natural and supportive. Watching her work is impressive and engaging. She brings magic to every class. Dieuwke is clearly passionate and deeply committed. I am just finishing my 7th class at Orion. I love this place. Great variety of classes. Deke is such a positive and patient trainer. I have done 2 obedience classes, 3 nose work classes, an agility class and a reactive dog class. Only downside is it’s quite pricey. But I did a much cheaper training at a big box store and the training space was really cramped and the trainer was literally reading from a manual the entire lesson - maybe it was her first time training. We had to repeat the class at Orion to make any progress. Also Orion was recommend by the trainer at the rescue I foster for - it’s a good sign when a trainer recommends another trainer!
