I’m going to be honest — if you are adopting with children, be prepared that you may not have the best experience here. Our experience felt uncomfortable and judgmental rather than supportive and understanding. Adopting a puppy is a huge decision for a family, and sometimes things simply do not work out despite good intentions. In comparison, the Dane County Humane Society in Wisconsin was much more professional, caring, realistic, and family-friendly. They understand that matching the right dog with the right family matters most. If an adoption does not work out, they allow returns without making families feel ashamed or judged, and they help guide you toward a better fit. The entire process there felt compassionate and supportive instead of stressful. Honestly, it was worth the drive. I truly hope Noah’s Ark can improve the way families are treated during the adoption process because adopting a pet should feel encouraging, not intimidating.

Great experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My little Choco has made herself right at home.

My experience with Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary was frustrating. At the time of adoption, we were clearly told that if the puppy was not a good fit, we could return it so it could be placed in a better home. That is exactly what we did, in good faith and with the puppy’s best interest in mind. Being denied the opportunity to adopt again later is not what we were told. When we came back, we were denied with no questions, no conversation, and no chance to explain our situation or what we had learned. There was no consistency between what we were told initially and how we were treated afterward. I understand shelters have to make decisions for the animals, but a lack of communication and transparency is discouraging. There are many dogs in need of homes and families willing to adopt. Experiences like this push people away and, unfortunately, toward breeders. I hope the organization improves its communication and follows through on what is told to adopters.

I adopted my 8 week old kitty from there. She will be 6 years old in March. They trim her nails for only 8.00. Vet charges 25. Lovely people to deal with.

Such a well-managed and caring facility. They really want you to have the right fit for your adoption! Please don’t forget the black kitties 🐈‍⬛ They’re so perfect for the upcoming season 🎃 👻 And remember, adopting two cats can be better than one…with very little extra work. Plus they keep each other company while you’re away from the home. 🏡
