Recently took my girlfriend on a date and had a great time. Highly recommended Carolyn as an instructor. The environment was very light and fun. If you’re looking for a fun date night, I suggest an intro class.

We’re not from the Newton area—we actually drive about 30 minutes each way. My kids started summer vacation much earlier than most schools, and they wanted to learn sewing or knitting. My girls’ aunt was incredibly generous and went above and beyond to help make their dream come true. She contacted multiple places in both Newton and Cambridge, arranged several one-on-one sewing and knitting lessons, and drove them all over so they could try different programs. We explored quite a few options, including some that charged as much as $200/h, but we all fell in love with the classes here because Jess teaches with so much love, patience, and passion. After seeing how much my older one enjoyed it, I enrolled all three of my kids in the sewing camp last week, and they absolutely loved it! They came home so proud of everything they created—eye masks, pillows, stuffed animals, shorts, and even a dress. It was amazing to see how much they learned in such a short time and how excited they were to keep sewing at home. If you’re looking for a place where kids can truly learn, be creative, build confidence, and have fun in a warm and supportive environment, we wholeheartedly recommend Jess an

I had a wonderful and relaxed time at sewing class. I made this cute pillow. Carolyn is a wonderful instructor. I've already signed up for another class and plan on taking others.

I had never done any sewing before, and I left feeling hungry for more. I had so much fun and learned a great deal in a short amount of time. The experience was welcoming, enjoyable, and encouraging for a complete beginner. The owner was incredibly kind and an absolute pleasure to talk with, I enjoyed myself and would absolutely recommend it to anyone curious about learning to sew.

I am new to sewing and have now had numerous classes with Sarah and Nancy. They are both highly skilled and have great instruction techniques. They are also very patient as instructors. Nancy recently taught me how to sew invisible zippers and, while I am not yet expert, the results were excellent. I hope to continue refining my skills at Newton Sewing Knitting and Crochet Studio.
