Muddy Buddy is a God Send!! I have been through many groomers in the area, with little success, so when I decided to try Muddy Buddy, I was a little apprehensive. They did not disappoint! The cut was perfect, the groomer was SO Gentle!! And the price is very reasonable. They did an amazing Job! We are clients for life!

I had taken my dog to the Independence location of Muddy Buddy for years without a single issue. When that location closed, I chose to continue supporting the business at the new Chesapeake location, trusting that the same level of care and professionalism would continue. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. On September 27, 2025, I brought my dog in for a routine grooming appointment. When I picked him up, he was clearly not acting like himself. Concerned, I took him to the veterinarian, where he was diagnosed with an ear infection and five broken teeth. I was informed that the dental damage did not appear consistent with normal chewing and could have resulted from significant trauma. Grooming appointments are the only time my dog is away from my supervision, which made this extremely alarming. I emailed the business to raise these concerns and request an explanation. I never received a response. Despite my serious reservations, I returned for a subsequent appointment and clearly communicated my prior concerns at drop-off. I expressed that I was nervous and asked that special care be taken. The appointment ran approximately an hour longer than usual, yet nothing out o

I cannot recommend Muddy Buddy (specifically Michelle) enough! My lab mix, Tuck, is typically very anxious and hates getting groomed/bathed, but that is not the case here! He loves it when we go and is obsessed with Michelle. She goes above and beyond each time we are there to make sure that he is comfortable. There is something SO comforting when you walk in and the team knows you and your pet by name. We recently moved to Suffolk and I STILL make all my appointments at Muddy Buddy on Independence. There is absolutely no one in Hampton Roads that I trust more with my fur baby than Michelle! If you are looking for a new groomer - look no further! It doesn’t get better than Muddy Buddy.

10000/10 - are you obsessed with your pups and nervous to take them anywhere to get groomed? TAKE THEM HERE! I’ve taken my dog Luna to around 7 different groomers since I’ve moved to VB and this place wins by ten fold. Such an awesome staff and I cant recommend the groomer Mikey enough! Not only is he an amazing groomer (always makes my baby look beautiful) but he is so incredibly kind with her which means more to me than an amazing haircut - which he still does anyway. Muddy buddy is the best in Hampton roads hands down, take your furry fam here!

I am so thankful I found Muddy Buddy. One of their specialties is grooming senior dogs. My Schnorkie is a sweetie but can be a little ornery when she gets groomed. Mikey the groomer is very patient with my dog and does and excellent job. I highly recommend Muddy Buddy to anyone looking for a nice family owned business with excellent customer service and awesome groomers!
