Rockville is in Maryland, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rockville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Maryland's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Highly disappointed with my experience during the puppy adoption process at the Humane Society in Rockville on Stonestreet. Throughout multiple interviews, there was no clear communication about any age restrictions or policies regarding households with young children. It wasn’t until later in the process that I was told I could not adopt due to having a toddler. I was even scheduled for a third interview and led to believe I would be able to bring the puppy home. I visited the puppy twice and had my apartment complex submit all required pet policy documentation, as requested. After completing everything asked of me, I was then told adoption was denied due to an internal policy that was never previously mentioned or clearly stated on their website. The process felt disorganized and misleading, and it was very discouraging—especially as a first-time adopter. I hope they improve their communication and transparency so others don’t go through the same experience. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location for adoption.

Although it’s not a traditional veterinary clinic, it’s a place where dogs are treated with so much love and care. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and truly kind to the dogs—you can really see how much they love the pets. On top of that, their vaccine prices are much more affordable than at other veterinary clinics. I also appreciate how organized they are. I really like the work they do and highly recommend them!

This experience was deeply disappointing and unsettling. My partner and I visited this shelter genuinely interested in adopting a cat or a dog as first-time adopters. From the beginning, the staff were passive, dismissive, and unwelcoming. There was no effort to explain the adoption process or help us feel comfortable asking questions. We were told that there were no cats available, and that only one dog could be viewed. However, while we were inside, we clearly saw cats present in the facility. When we asked about this, they simply said the cats were “unavailable,” without providing any explanation — such as age, medical status, or foster hold. This felt misleading and dishonest, especially for people seriously considering adoption. Regarding the dog we were shown, a staff member casually mentioned that some dogs may have skin conditions. Despite this, there was no sanitation procedure at all — no hand sanitizing, no gloves, no instructions — we were told to interact with the dog directly. This raised serious concerns about hygiene, visitor safety, and animal care standards. When we expressed that the dog was not the right fit for us, we were not allowed to spend any additiona

My baby got neutered here and i couldn’t have had a better experience! Everyone was super friendly and i could tell he felt comfortable, he lowkey didnt want to leave lol. He had a little bruising and they made sure to inform me and give me an ice pack to help which was really sweet. They also called to check in to make sure he was doing okay ❤️

Very positive experience! I took my cat Garfield in for vaccinations and was very satisfied with the care. Everything was handled in an organized and transparent way, with no pressure for unnecessary procedures. Clean, professional, and welcoming environment. I highly recommend it!
